Aussie Biker not so fresh off the boat but new here!

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself!

I’m Tristan and an Aussie who has been living in London for a few years now! Been riding dirt bikes most my life but finally decided to get my road license and get myself a nice road bike! I recently passed and bought myself a new bike!

A little about me I’m a software engineer based in the city, I rock climb on a regular basis and I have grown quite fond of English ale!

I’m looking to meet a bunch of people and partake in some rides to do a bit of exploring of the UK! I’m interested in coming to the Borough meets and would love to get to know a few people on here so I can have a few friendly people to show me the ropes when I come out to the meets

Here is a picture of my bike! She is brand new and still in the “ride in” phase so I’m having to take it a bit slow and relaxed on the bike at the moment! It’s 2013 Honda CB600FB Hornet! I quite like the colour means I can stand out a bit on the road!

Nice bike! Welcome Tristan!

Thanks jakubkuba! I only picked it up on Sunday and haven’t been able to ride it much since then! Dying to get out there and put some miles on it!

Welcome fella. see you at borough some time soon then.

Hi and welcome!

Welcome to LB mate…

Welcome to LB

Hello mate, welcome to LB!
The bike is sweet

Cheers Guys!

The bike is driving me a little mental at the moment haha, I have only done 70 miles on it so far and still trying to ride it in, and the weather is not helping, the tyres are still as slippery as hell so not having much fun at the moment!

I perfectly understand!
Just had the first service done on my new bike this morning… what I nice feeling :Wow:
Make sure you don’t “baby” the bike… don’t be scared to rev, just make sure you don’t keep a costant speed for too long!
For the tyres you might wanna go in a wide space like a parking or something to break them in safely

Finding a car park is probably not a bad idea to break the tyres in! Might have to go find some open space on the weekend!

HIYA!

We’ll get GeorgeB off his triumph, back onto his hornet and get those tyres scrubbed in Quick as you like!
going to newbie night on Monday?

Hi and welcome

Newbie night? I had not heard there was such a thing I may have to look into it further! Monday can be made free for such a thing!

Hi Mate,

Welcome!

Glad to hear you do rock climbing. I think of getting out of London to Snowdonia (bike in) and do the hike via Watkins path (not really a climb per se, but supposed to be a good hike).

Would you be interested to join?

I went on to Ben Nevis in May, took me all day to ride London to Highlands (580 miles). Snowdonia is only 240 miles away.
