Attempted theft using petrol saw!!!

what about a supersoaker filled with p1ss??

lol - yeah, probably :hehe:

See you on Weds - and leave your tools at the office

Different offence but yes again, ‘administering a noxious substance’ maybe … well it’d p1ss me off !

Brew some stinging nettles in water for a few months then get that in a super soaker.

Holy cow, what a story! It just goes to show how much security you need nowadays! The OP is very lucky they had problems with their saw!

this story is actually insane. The balls these people havem, the audactity! Glad you still have your bike mate. Why did they choose yours when you had all these chains?!

Probably because it wasn’t an SV

most likely for parts for there bike, scum dont like paying for parts as we do:angry:

So if I put my chain saw near the door? would that keep it fair? I sure hope to see their faces when I open the door going vrooom vrooom with the chain saw in my hand, somehow I think I would have a longer reach:D

Then again… what can you possibly do, they could shoot yout, they could press charges against you… they could come back since they know where you are, they could damage your car, house, you or your loved ones:( there is no justice and no protection.

sorry to hear fella, doesn’t help you sleep well at night no doubt

just a small point (and i’m by no means pushing almax) but you said their chains aren’t enough, but by your own admission they didn’t go at the chain but rather the weak connection you attached it with. sounds like if you invested in more of those with better padlocks (and/or longer chains to give you options) then that’ll help. from past experience on here, attacks often aren’t one off’s…

its just mad what length people go to now! hope they get caught!!!

My lock on my almax chain broke and no keys inside it would turn. It was either get a lock smith or attempt to cut it off myself. I went down the hireshop and got an electric angle grinder and cutting disc, it cut through my CISA lock in about five seconds! Whilst I was cutting through the lock I scorred the side of my almax chain, the spinning disc cut through the knife like butter!!! I couldn’t believe it and I only touched the chain by accident.

Petrol angle grinders aren’t that expensive either.

My advice to people would be to stick as much on your bike as possible if leaving over night and definitely get an alarm. The more you stick on a bike the better. Petrol cutters aren’t favoured because they make so much noise. When I cut my lock off it was like being at a kiss concert, the whole street lit up with sparks.

The almax chain only gives protection against hand-cropping.

The water balloons idea is excellent, but you could do it a load better I reckon. Day-Glo paint, White paint? Something itchy in there aswell, or something irritating to the skin (but would that be illegal?). Or maybe a super soaker with the stuff to get less on the bike/road.

Paint ball gun with fluro dye, aim for the face, ears and any bare hands

Probably not worth going down there… Down forget, after you shouted at them from the window… They know where you live! Glad the ar$eholes didn’t get away with it and thanks for the advice and pretty much reviewing a few locks for us! Some good info in there! Cheers!

I like old post revival… loovely… at first I though WTF I read this before somewhere… then I realised it was the same story.

If they want it it seems they will just take it. In my work car park the bikes used to be parked just the other side of a metal perimeter fence, one Friday morning a van pulled up in the alley just the other side of the fence and started using a petrol angle grinder on the fence, no one really thought anything of it as it was broad daylight, people assumed that they were working on the fence, didn’t take them too long to get the fence down and pop the nicest bike in the bay (a fireblade I think) and pop it on the back of their van, they wanted it, they took it!!

Must have been sparse pickings in that bay!
