attempted break in :(

Very sorry to hear this - we did offer Nina the post of guarding your garage but unfortunately she turned it down on comfort grounds.

Hope you manage to fort knox it before anything else happens.

Puppy (bless him, RIP) once put a thread on here of how to install a ground anchor:

I must say looks like a better job than I could have done

Sounds pretty **** to me Jamie hope you get more secure incase they come back.

Sorry to hear that dude. Scumbags!
Instead of expensive ground anchor, if you know any scaffolders or there is a yard near you. Ask them for some Hilti rings. Only problem is they only have an internal diameter of about 3 inches, so not sure if a series iv Almax would fit though.

i chain my ntv to a 1.4 escort haha

Rixxy had motion detecting cameras at his gaff. When they were triggered a chap with a baseball bat was deployed to the scene. Hey may be able to advise you on cameras and baseball.

Shite news and a nasty experience for you even if nowt was taken 0 hope you get things sorted quickly.

That would be superb degree project.

Kinect connected to small tennis or baseball luncher.

That’s crap news mate, glad nothing was nicked and let me know if you need a hand installing anything today as I’m off too and just down the road

Have you thought about getting a wireless burglar alarm? You’d probably get enough range to do the house & garage plus you can take it with you quite easilly when you move.

I have one that does the house with an additional sensor in the shed - gives a bit of peace of mind that the bang I just heard isn’t somebody wrenching the door off the shed & knicking my bike. The more expensive ones will ring you to tell you it’s been triggered as well.

I’m sure they’re not as secure as a professionally installed wired system but they’re cheaper and more convenient if you’re renting & likely to move regularly.

ordered a wireless sensor alarm last night

Chris has kindly offered to house my bikes for a while as were looking to move now and our tenancy is almost up. tools are moving today as well so shed will have no valuables left as of today

Were at home today as well just in case.

Were gonna do what we can to prevent it now. We got a lucky break and dont want to have them get 1 over us like others have suffered :crying:

Now the garage is empty, you could make a bit of cash by renting it out as a kennel for large, angry dogs

Great news Jamie that Chris can accommodate, if however, it’s a bit of a squeeze and you want to store your lesser used bikes elsewhere - I am lucky enough to have Fort Knox like underground parking (and plenty of it) at my place near Waterloo Station on the Southbank. Welcome to use as long as you need.

How many bear traps could you fit in that garage?

Glad to hear it’s all secure now… How did you sleep last night?

10 KNOWN PROLIFIC thieves? Why aren’t these people tagged? It’s only a matter of time before somebody (thieves or victims) become seriously hurt of killed.

Not that anybody would care if the thieves got hurt - but that would then make the victim the criminal, just for protecting their own posessions and/or family.

they catch em but the law protects them to a certan degree as some are minors :frowning:

Cops hate teh system as much as we do

We didn’t, we’re shattered!

Ever since my bike was taken I’m like that character on Harry Enfield and chums. ‘My name is Michael Caine, and I’m a nosy neighbour.’ Always standing by the window waiting for one of them to come back for some reason. It definitely has a psycholigical effect, so expect a few sleepless nights.
