Awesome write up. Thanks.

I tested one in April and was just about ready to hand over the dosh. But I think I just need one more year of sportsbikes on the road before going nekkid or left field. So I bought the K7 750 instead.

2008 will most likely see me on a KTM though.

I could change to one of these, though the only thing holding me back is the question over suitability for the track, or rather my personal preference to it. I’d like to take one out. Perhaps the Superduke 990 Cup guys will be willing to help here

Also, I think you need to update your avatar mate!

Wow… you liked it then Jay… didn’t think it would be your cup of tea really to be honest.

I’m still on my '06 Superduke… until tomorrow… possibly, when I maybe trading it in for something else… maybe… if it all works out!!

Do love the Duke though… thank **** they sorted the ****e tank range out for the '07 and ironed a few fueling issues out. The '07 headlight/front fairing unit also looks loads better than previous models.

The side stand is a bugger but you can just about catch the bottom of it with your heel whilst on the bike… takes a couple of strikes but it can be done… pants design for sure.

My Duke came with a pretty tidy tool kit…

The clutch wasn’t too bad for me… much the same as the Tuono and RSVR both of which use a hydraulic clutch. Really noticed how heavy they were though compaired to the R1.

Think there are a couple of tools missing from that picture!

Jay the secret is to have one for the road and one for the track

The one in my Avatar is now a track tool…looks very different from the picture though

Floyd, thank-you! I’ll add you picture to the article to cover the short-comings of the demo. That’s actually a pretty damn good quality kit, eh!

Those not used to hydraulic clutches will find it hard, but yeah, you’ll get used to it. It’s certainly nowhere near as heavy as the clutch on Foxy’s old Fireblade. Weirdo clutch on that.

I did enjoy it, it really appealed to me, it allowed me to go out with a tinted visor and get lost in the ride, which is how I like my gixxer. Let’s see how things go, I may have to sweet-talk Bracken some more

GixerGooner, never say never

nice one jay, its never easy doing a bike write up.

That bike does look like its ready to bite the head of a nail…

Fair play to KTM… Keeping it hardcore…

But where are the wheelie shots jay!!!

This ain’t Superbike magazine We get to be invited back by dealers this way, heh. Thanks all the same though!

glad you liked it, I had one for a weekend and enjoyed riding it around the alps and think the new 07 in orange and black is vvvv nice! but i still prefer my 750 for the adrenalin rushes .
