Arnie's 675 Coolant problem...

As some of you remember last BMM I had a huge coolant leak when we got to Chelsea Bridge.
Later at Clapham I only thought it went out through the overflow. I was wrong!
Next day in the morning I rode to work and same thing happened, just lost more coolant…
I discovered that one of the rubber pipes coming from the bottom of radiator melted into the exhaust downpipe. It wasn’t looking good and I needed quick fix.

I called North City Triumph and they said they are busy for the next 3 weeks but if it’s emergency I can take AA and they will try to fix it asap. Probably would have to wait few days for new pipe…

I decided to get my hands dirty again, which I’m actually enjoying recently
I went to B&Q and walking round came up with solution:satisfied: Got some aluminium pipe and hose clips and sorted the bloody thing on my own

I called my ‘secret’ dealer out of London which is less busy and bookend 6k miles service for next Friday. They will replace the pipe aswell so all looking good

Thanks for **Shane ** for letting me to ride his bike in search for coolant on Wednesday:D

See you back on the roads!

your toolkits getting better!
not just a screwdriver and a knife anymore
u now have a saw

that could of been nasty!!

and its there a crack in the pipe in the last pic?

nah. it’s all good now

lol good , well atleast atleast youve got the c90 for backup just incase:P

he he rode it twice yesterday

the thing which confuses me with my c90 and 675 is gearbox. They work different:P

posted same thing twice:pinch:

Arnie you need a plumber!

Anyone remember seeing my sons Fazer when he had it… You could tell it belonged to someone in the trade. It had a nice bit of copper tubing and elbows to carry water around it

Must be something to do with those 2 cowboys who helpded you do the last bit of work on your bike:D

nah I’m the one

You mean Beau and Luke, The Dukes of Hazard;)

Dunno, dodgy looking geysers…

Possibly  But from what I found out I think somebody routed the pipe wrong way when the bike was assembled.

ask for a replacement bike :stuck_out_tongue:

aslong as u get to keep that one ofcourse!!

heh  can’t have replacement bike just because of one pipe:P I’m having test ride next Friday on Speed Triple while having the service

Is the repair still touching the downpipe Arnie?

nope is not touching it anymore. the problem was the pipe was routed wrong at first. there is special bracket which holds it away. I put some heat shield over the fixed pipe now just in case:)

Well done mate:)

It’s satisfying to do stuff like that yourself eh?
