Their scooters are so damn cheap compared to high street shops!!! I would save around £400 if ordered from the site…but surelt there must be something fishy?
if not, then i’m looking into a new Piaggio Zip 50cc for £899
Im selling my scooter for 500 pound if your intresterd, Its a Gilera Stalker with a 70cc polini barrel and piston (fitted by a pro 2-stroke tuner my dad) the carb is a Weber and its been set up to suit the polini kit.
But the red is the no no for me mate, very nice of you though…
I found a dealer who sells the piaggio zip 50cc for £899, he said its pre-registered, 0 mileage, brand new, pdi…and it come with road tax already paid for.
Whats pre-registered and why is it pre-registered?
Whats pdi?
is the moped worth it from the info i’ve given?
also where can i get the cheapest open face helmet from in london? (new) not from online btw, from a shop, i’m not fussed about the make… thank u for your time peepos
Thank you very much, Most 16 years old just wreak there scooter but i have looked after mine very well and i run it in for 600 mile with the polini kit on before i opend the throttle fully, Its not bad for a 2000 year but its has been rebuilt from ground up new forks , Paint work (by my dad) ect ect, The reason im selling mine is because im moving onto an Aprilia RS 50. The zip is the same as my scooter under the plastics because now piaggio own Gilera there pritty much all the same, It has the same frame the same engine ect ect just different plastics there very good scooters.
pre-registerd means its allready been registerd to go on the road its just the dealer trying to sound smart really. Dont buy a cheap helmet mate and buy a full face one, Them cheap helmets are rubish they just break if you have a fairly hard crash.
Its just a smart arse word for a 5 minute check over.
You have to get brand new bikes up to a thing called manufacturers specification, Thats just basically taking the engine to bits and trimming the gaskits and lining parts up like the conrod ect ect, Because they just build them as fast as they can to make shiping and importing times more fast which make more profit.

Don’t think you are going to get that lot done during a Pre Delivery Inspection.
I’ve got the PDI sheet for my bike and it has 30 something items on it. The most complex is checking the emissions are within limits. (5 minutes with the right kit.)
Most items are things like checking it’s got two wheels, the saddle is there, all thenuts and bolts are in place and there is some oil in the beast and then a quick ride around the block. About 1 hours work, tops.
PDI - No they will do this, basically the scooters come in a crate, they take them out put the mirrors on etc, fill with oil, test it and that’s it.
Not sure what part of london you are in but Infinity and Hein Gerick have a good selection of helmets. Make sure you try plenty on though. I know price is an issue but a full face lid will protect your face better if you fall off. Also try and get a proper jacket and gloves if you can (try ebay for SH stuff). Skin can grow again but it’s painful when you lose it.
Don’t pay any attention to people who say " it’s Chinese so it’s rubbish" more so if they are trying to sell you theirs;) And I’d rather be plodding along on a 4-stroke than annoying everyone with a noisy, busy, quickly burnt out 2-stroke:w00t:
Not so many years ago people said the same thing about Japanese bikes - the riceburners - and look where they are now.
I don’t say the Chinese bikes are top quality but they are value for money.
I have one - the Cruiser model on this site - and in 4 years and almost 20k miles it has NEVER caused a problem. Service them and they are fine. I did a round trip from Marmaris in Turkey to Budapest and back in one hit. 2400 miles flat out 54 mph (don’t believe they will do 65 mph, they won’t) and, stupid thopugh it was to attempt it, it didn’t miss a beat.
I have dozens of friends who ride this model and the Tommy model and none of us have had any serious problems.
That said, if you go direct to the factory they are about 250-300 Gbp but you need to buy 24…
Pre-registered probably means it has been registered in the dealers name so showing as “sold” on his stock list and allowing him to meet his sales targets and get future discounts. He isn’t trying to be clever…he is being clever:)
