Arai Quantum small - free to good home

Finally got round to getting a new lid, as I now have three, one has to go.

Black Arai Quantum ( E, I think ).

Never crashed or dropped, couple of tiny marks at the back covered with a sticker ( Cove bikes skull and bones, laquered on).

Fitted fog city reactolite fog thingy.

It’s free because it’s dated 1996 so 13 years old, can’t really sell it but it’s 2 good to throw - would make a good spare or pillion lid?

Pm me, collect from Reigate or Sutton

Gone to Mr Panagiotis! I thank You.

i thank you

Doh! I should’ve been on this forum instead of washing my bike. I blame PJ, PJ you owe me an Arai helmet now. :stuck_out_tongue:

:P:P:P

PJ, was scrubbing the rims for ages but it wasn’t coming off. What was the stuff you suggested? It’s alot better than Wednesday atleast! :w00t:

I use paraffin to remove the grime. Just be careful not to get it on the tyres, so use a cloth. Once clean then wash with hot soapy water to remove the oily film that it leaves. You could also use WD40 but it costs alot more, use a cloth with this also, but no need to wash it off. Still take care not getting it on your tyres.

Cheers, hopefully it’ll do the trick. Just the rear tyre has crap on it, pretty greasy stuff.

God would you really what to use a 13 year old helmet? The materials have probably degraded significantly and the technology has moved on in leaps and bounds.

Would do as a pillion helmet, I’ve never taken anyone pillion yet and don’t fancy shelling out for another helmet for the rare time I do take one.

yep, compared to the fruit bowl i have at the moment(as a pillion helmet), a 13 y/o Arai sounds perfect!

Kev, so long as the helmet has been stored ok then it should be ok. Ideally they say you should replace your helmet evry 5-6 years but i suppose it depends on how much you use it. My lid is 9 years old and my spare is 6 years old and i alternate them for winter/summer riding. So long as the inside is not all degraded (the white of the polystyrene is not flaking off then it should be fine).
