Aprillia Mana

Just want to know your views on this the new Aprillia Mana 850 twin. It has a 3 speed auto and a 6 speed manual. The gear change is done by push button on the bar or in the usual way with your foot. There is no clutch lever.

I have been waiting for something like this since i had my accident and have trouble pulling the clutch.

“It has a 3 speed auto and a 6 speed manual.”

So there’s 2 versions of the bike?

It looks the type of thing that sells by the bucket load in Europe.

There is only one bike which has both auto and manual.

Blimey, how does that work then?

I did read about how it all worked, but my head hurt trying to understand it all. I try and get a link to all the technical bits.

Sounds similar to the system being employed on the new Yamaha FJR1300. It’s triptronic, essentially. You can either set the bike to ride automatic and all you do is accelerate and brake, or you can sequentially navigate the gearbox with the use of two buttons on the LHS switch-gear.

No idea on the new Aprilia, sorry, but yes, it could prove quite popular for folks who don’t get on with foot-geared systems for whatever reason. It doesn’t look bad either

Have to agree both the Shiver and Mana are great looking bikes.
