If so what terms and conditions i.e. do you have to send them your kit back if damaged etc do they impose???

most companies will offer extra cover. However, so long as the accident isnt your fault you can claim directly from the 3rd parties insurance.
I got nocked off my bike over a year ago and my insurance wouldnt claim back for my damaged gear. 1 phone call to the third parties insurance, 1 digital photo and a scan of the receipt of purchase for my damaged items and they sent out a cheque.
Was offered cover extra £39 up to £1000 cover with carole nash seems good offer, But I didnt take it out in my policy but will do next time as my helmet is fooked!!!
