Anyone see Guardian Travel section this saturday?

Simon Gandofi’s travels in South America headlined the Guardian travel section this saturday with loads of pics a big map and everything! - I’m just gonna read it.

Just read it myself. Quite funny.

I love the intro:

‘flash wheels and support vehicles are for wimps, as 73 year old Simon Gandolfi proves when he picks up his ‘pizza delivery bike’ in Mexico and heads down south’,

‘flash wheels and support vehicles are for wimps’ I wonder who they can be reffering to?

The Travel editor wrote the intro. I am not responsible… at least for that!
I’ll be at the Horizons Unlimited meet at the Ace on Feb 8.

Good job - nothing but admiration here…

Really enjoyed the Guardian feature Simon - a great read! It was heart warming to hear how nice and helpful everyone was - there’s obviously a lot of good people in S.America.

Yeah I read that, great stuff - & then coincidence, spotted his post in the off road section a few days later.

Thanks guys - am preparing a new trip for next winter - here it is too cold for old bones. A ride round India seems right - eat lots of prawns. Getting there is the dilemma. Ride or fly? And if ride, which road?
Cheers…hope to see some of you at the Ace Cafe on Feb 8:cool:

Does anyone have a copy of the Guardian article?

Found the link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2009/jan/10/south-america-road-trips-bike

just read the link, what a cracking read… and well done all that way on a 125 as well

Cheers Alistair, have bookmarked it and will have a read on Sunday morning.

Any of you coming to the Adventure Travel Meet on Sunday, Feb 8? I’ll be there signing books and giving a short talk - also lots of time for chat.
Cheers, simon

gonna be there Simon Im on the last couple of chapters of ya book mate…cracking read
