It’s great if you have people abroad etc - cheap calls. But to be honest, you can get VOIP phones now that are free.
Whatever you do, DON’T select the ‘Skype me’ option. I did this when I first used it and loads of weirdos start PMing you, asking VERY rude questions (probably more to do with my screen name I reckon).
I use it to speak to my family in SA.
It’s great - free to talk to somebody else with skype or you can pay £10 online and speak to any landline or mobile eg to phone a landline in Italy costs about a penny a minute
Ive got it but dont often use it, waiting for my sister who moved to Spain last year to get a computer and then i`ll use it.
been using it forever! since there were times when it showed less than 200,000 people in the world using it and file transfers were super fast Ah the memories ! its good sound quality and you can have up to 5 people conferencing with no time limits and its saved me a fortune in calls to relatives downunder, whats not to like ?
I use it to speak to mum in Cyprus and mates in Greece. It’s pretty good most of the time but the line’s not always brilliant.
We use it at work, its all we have - no landlines at all - all of our communication is done via e-mail and skype.
Guess its good because its free and our calls are kept to a min, however it completely shuts the business when the network / internet goes down.
Pretty cool that we have a 0845 number connected to it and use a exchange to create extension numbers.
