I’m looking at renting a place in Hanworth but I don’t know much about the area.
Does anyone on here live in or around the area? If so, what’s it like?

I know at least one member who lives very near to there. I am familiar with some of the area having had parents, siblings and various friends live in that part of London at various times, but don’t hold that against it. As for what it is like - largely mid-20th century suburbs typical of West London generally.
Hi, im from hounslow, very close to hanworth, my best mate lives there. Its ok, fair few bits and bobs though, theres feltham swimming pool, walking distance from anywhere from hanworth, a library, a decent cafe and a Greggs!
Close to M3, A316 and sunny hounslow of course.
Theres also a Wickes just up the road, and just across the A316 is West London Yamaha. Never really had a problem in the area.
Hope this helps
i live about a mile from there near sunbury cross, far as i know theres a few of us who live in a couple of mile radius round there and theres west london yamaha and west london suzuki and b operates out of a workshop not far from there…
which part of hanworth you looking at???
I’m looking around the bottom end of Hanworth Park, on the South side of the A316.
I had a look around the area today and it didn’t look too bad. at least the place I’m looking at has got reasonably secure parking for the bike:D
think i go past there on the way to work most days, is that the side of the a316 closer to the cinema?
If it’s the cineworld cinema then I’m looking at the opposite side of the A316.
In which case I’m just the other side of the ‘border’ in Hampton Hill.
Very handy for getting out to decent roads, and a pretty swift journey into Town via the A316/A4.
Train connectivity sucks, but buses get to most places easily. Not many decent pubs, but plenty in Hampton Hill and Twickenham. See you down the Popes Grotto perhaps?
Hey Rusty, good luck with your home hunting. I’m a couple of miles from there as you know.
It’s always a compromise when it comes to finding a place to live but decent bike security is a must have.
Hanworth is ok and can be a bit more affordable than it’s neighbours. Depends on your criteria and where your moving from etc.
May be worth having a look around the Hampton and Twickenham areas too.
There are certainly a lot of worse places to be.
I’m Hampton but very close to Hanworth boarder. There are good and bad parts, as you’d find with any area. Generally this side of A316 is better then tother side, although it is worth making the trip to the other side of the boarder to get a kebab from Hanworth Kebad House
oi oi !!! i live on the other side!! (technically) more like the start or end of the 316 depending on which way your going! but i agree with nutz his side is a bit nicer as its closer to hampton, teddington, bushy park,
when you buying another bike then nutz???
You’re a bit further West in the burbs. I’m working on it.
Hi There
I live in hanworth have done all my life its not a bad area and there are plenty of places close, like staines, kingston, hounslow, A316, and also about 10mins drive from heathrow airport so not to bad.
I live in Twickenham , (the station / stadium end) which is a lovely part of the world , and not to far away from Hanworth . Did someone mention The Popes Grotto , have been known to frequent said establishment :hehe: , in fact there are some excellent pubs and bars in Twickenham (or so they tell me  )
I’m just in Twickenham too.
There’s quite a few biker brethren around here, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
Welcome.
Cheers Guys, I didn’t go with the place in Hanworth in the end.
Instead we managed to get a place around Twickenham, near the stadium
Hmmm, I think I just heard your GSXR howling up the A316!
Near the stadium? I hope you enjoy the match days - the road closures etc used to drive my sister mad when she lived near the military music school.
and you get a parking permit as its a nightmare when the rugby is on!!!
