Anyone fancy an Arts Back Yard style E.London/Essex Ride out this weekend?

Anyone out this Weekend?

May try and get a few miles in before the weather turns wet on Sunday Afternoon. Maybe a little Blast to Finchingfield, grab a cream tea and Scone and head home. Not an all day thing, go early Doors and get back late afternoon. maybe 9am to 2pm ish

Yup, I’m doing a early saturday ride out from Blackheath tea hut to the Dolomites and Alps coming back the following sunday

Will this be a 125, L plate friendly ride?

if bike is repaired I could be tempted

where’s the starting point

All welcome, L Plates and Noobs to Group riding.

I guess the usual start from High Beach Tea Hut, but can do elsewhere if it suits everyone

I have feeling that Sat/Sun will be proper British weather. :frowning:

I’ll check again as i’m sure the BBC website showed good weather Saturday and Sunday looked OK up to about 1 ish then it will start to turn Wet.

BBC Weather shows raining Saturday Morning, getting warmer from 4pm onwards up till 4pm Sunday then rain again. Highs of around 22 degrees so could be ideal weather

Well don’t get me wrong, I would love to come (even I may) so let’s leave weather. Have you heard about something called “Tour de France” ?

:stuck_out_tongue:

R

oh sod it yeh, Bloody Cyclists!!!

Why don’t they just stay in bloody France? It’s not exactly the Tour de France if it’s in Bloody Essex!!!

Normally would be up for this but I am cycling across London to see some of the Tour de France with Mrs Hogtrumpet.

Just looked on the Website, it actually goes through Finchingfield!!!

Spoil Sports!!!

I’m gonna go along and lob them all in the Pond at Finchingfield!!

I guess Burnham is safer option.

Most of the roads around Epping will be a nightmare as it goes through there on Monday so i imagine on Sunday they will be closing them all off in preperation. so if we went out i would avoid starting anywhere in that area.

How about the South Coast instead?

Burnham now that’s handy

Roads are closing Monday from 7.30 to 5.30pm through the forest

TFL website gives the route, I saw road signs in Epping Forest on Tuesday with the above times on so Sunday should be normal, they don’t usually close roads the day before.
I might join you if I can get a pass

That area was covered in warning signs last week re road closures

This weekend it will be mostly covered in cone-laying lorries and nice policemen

Won’t they have the steam rollers out to embed the gravel? Or don’t Tour de Essex riders worry about loose gravel?
