Any madics out there?

Well, that’s what the doctor says the problem is and I’ve no reason to disbelieve.

Pretty damned uncomfortable with a constant half dead hand and wrist, elbow and shoulder pain. The big problem is I can only ride the bike for about ten miles before it all gets too much.

Anybody got any ideas of what off script stuff might work to relieve the pain?

Oldguy.

(The doc. suggested I gave up riding for 6 or 8 weeks. Like that’s going to happen!)

pop a few pills before each ride

and if that dont work, GET SOME STRONGER ONES :w00t:

Throttle or clutch? If its the clutch hand you COULD buy a temporary bike, CB750A or Cb400A, maybe give it a rest.

Where are u based mate…my bro is a doctor so im sure he wouldnt mind taking a look and giving u a 2nd opnion. But if the doctor says dont ride for 6 week…don’t. I would of though it would probably cause it not to heal right and ull be in pain the rest of ure riding career. Its all about the long term…

Maybe where you are mate but it’s easier to find Rocking Horse poo in the UK;)

Have you tried that Ibuleve Gel stuff Oldguy?

I have an Ulna Nerve entrapment in my left elbow. It’s also known as Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, and like you, I have lost the feeling in the little finger, half of the ring finger and along the inside of my left hand and lower arm. It’s not stopped me riding though, I suppose I’ve just got used to it.

I’ve had this for two years now and have tried anti-inflammatorys and joint injections to relieve it. Neither have cured it and the next step is surgery to remove the Ulna Nerve from the Cubital Tunnel and relocate it outside in the soft part of the elbow.

Have a chat with your Doc and ask if he can do a joint injection for you. My Doc does them on a friday because they do smart a bit and you do have a bit of discomfort over the weekend. It’s not that bad to give it the swerve, but it can ache a bit.

I’ve not found anything that cures it. I am hanging off the op until after the Summer…

Thanks guys.

The little yellow pills: If they’re the ones I took back in the 60’s I’ll not even be able to find the friggin bike, let alone ride it.

Ibuleve: Wasn’t that a song by the Batchelors, Righteous Bros. and so on? Seriously, I’ll give that a try.

Not ride for six weeks: That means the bus. No problem, but when I get on I have the whole vehicle pretty much to myself. But the driver keeps stopping and picking up scumbags and **** heads.

Joint injections: Most contain cortezone and I might be getting old but not that old.

Asked a marathon runner/fitness freak at work: He said “Suffer, it’s good for the soul.” Obviously done in his knees and brain.

Back to suffering and time then, with a trial of the cream.

Oldguy.

don’t be such a wuss is all I have to add. nice and constructive i know lol. i had to have my ulna nerve routed around my metal work and have a permanantly blotchy red hand and lower arm with varying conditions in different parts of my little finger and hand from zero feeling to ultimate hyper sensitivity meaning it feels like i’m being stabbed just cutting my finger nail.

…oh and i manage to race all day long…i do pi$$ and moan like an ‘old man’ so we have that in common :w00t:;):stuck_out_tongue:
