If theres any herts police officers on here can you pm me asap as urgent help is needed re a mates bike please:crying:
Elad might know someone?!
A few of you know my mate gary well silly arse was arrested nearly 3 weeks ago(now on remand) whilst out on his bike(not for road traffic offences)…and thats the problem the bike is still parked up where he was arrested so i need to speak to a police officer from herts regarding keeping an eye on it until i can get the keys to move it here.
Not plod but i have a truck if that is of any use . i live in Hertford
Hiya Wasp, I should imagine the keys will be with his property that will be stored with the Police. If he has another set and you get his full permission then I should imagine it would not be a problem moving it to his home address. If he doesn’t then you’ll have to get the keys from Herts Police and to do that the best bet would be to get his solicitor onto it pronto.
You will need to speak to your mate first though.
Samm,
I’m almost certain you can write to the council asking for permission to remove the bike to a safe place.
will you be able to get your mate to sign something to say it is ok to move?
Thats the problem…there is only one set of keys and i can’t get to them until monday! when he’s in court, fingers crossed the bikes still there and he gets off:w00t:
Is it feasible to just take a chain and secure the bike to something?
We’ve got a van too, if needed, chick x
Hopefully got someone to check on it for me tomorrow:D just hoping its still there and not damaged! but if he gets sent down on monday and i get the keys will need to get it shifted pronto so may well take you up on the offer Gabs:kiss:
Maybe you could try to lock/secure it??
Eerrmmmmm not a good idea m8…they’d charge for the recovery and storage of the bike and being a council run pound the price will be a lot higher than £150 removal and £10 per day storage.
Samm, if you get the keys to us there’s no reason why Dave or I couldn’t move it for him and ride it back here to ours. We’d need a letter of authority from him and I’ll need confirmation that the bike is insured. I’m back on shift tomoz though for 4 days so if your point of contact can confirm its ok and secure it for now I’m about from Thursday.
The van options are also a top idea, but make sure they have a letter of authority in case they’re stopped by the Police. I’m surprised the Police didn’t take it to their station or to a pound for safe keeping as technically they’re responsible if it gets stolen or damaged.
Good luck with it all m8!
Jools.
Ta Jools, big up to zephyr steve:D he went 30 miles out of his way to hunt for it and found it for me, just got to wait til tomorrow to get the keys:D though i’m hoping Gary will have a nice judge tomorrow and they’ll let him out, then he can sort it himself… though from what he say’s it could be 4-6 months inside:w00t: in which case i’ll be needing a van! to bring the bike back to essex:doze:
This is what I love about bike forums…people rally about to help out a biker in need!
Thats why i love everyone on here:D very helpful and kind…funny…best group of people ive come across:D
no what I meant was you contact the council and ask to remove it for them…
