basic gist of it is this guy looks out of his work window and sees some guys dragging his r1 into a van, he runs down the stairs to confront them turns out there is 4 of them so he backs off and calls the police as one of them is waving a hatchet through a window at him!!! the police found the van a little a later which had been stolen in slough and all this took place in manchester…
what made me think of it is slough is not a millon miles from heathrow???:Whistling:
Always bad to hear, but its not worth getting a hatcet in the face, I would have backed off too… hope the feckers are caught tho, preferably with some razor wire.
as my old wing chun sifu once said “never use a weapon against someone unless you’re prepared to have it used against you”. that’s why i prefer an ‘empty hand style’
I really do hope this isn’t going to become a common event, the problem is an empty van and 2 or 3 blokes and you could remove virtually any bike in seconds. the police won’t be able to react in time either because to most people it would look like they are recovering the bike so they wouldn’t call the police. Think it might be time for the local councils to look into secure parking for bikes, This might entice more riders to use their bikes in the city if they know that they are parked safely.
Sorry i was daydreaming whilst writing the last sentance
im glad i only have a zzr1100.i dont think anyone is gonna be able to pick that thing up its to heavy:D
great bike not expensive bike. i had a nsr125 and a dt50 stolen from outside my mums house in 96 i suppose only kids would steal them sort of bikes with an r1 they say with the parts on them you could make over twice the amount of what its worth i just hope that with all the cameras in the world nowadays someone is gonna get nabbed and put in jail for a long time thats if theres any empty spaces left i suppose the tax payer could pay 300pound a night for them to stay in a police cell
