I saw this whilst on holiday in Chicago back in 1990. Unfortunately I didn’t get to go inside (I only noticed the museum had a U-boat 10 minutes before it shut!)
Very clever how that Americans managed to capture it and stop it from sinking, enabling them to tow it home…
Amazing stuff. Seen programs on telly where they move whole houses.
I’m intrigued how you saw this in Chicago in 1990 when the footage shows that it was being put in place in 2004
