Am I getting old????

My hip is killing me. I’ve Been riding for 7 years now and have always had an energitic lifestyle, Gym three times a week, loads of hiking and outdoors sports.

but…

just recently When ever I get off my bike I walk like a cripple for 20 steps then after a bit it fades. However last few days Ive have it constantly like an ache but more sharp all the time. Does anyone else get bad joint pain from there bike? Is this a stage or should I actually “Pun” get off my arse and see a specialist? If so is it gonna cost a fortune?

Sounds like you need to see an osteopath. They charge about £40 an hour. Depending on whats wrong it might only take a couple of sessions to straighten you out.

And start taking cod liver oil capsules…they REALLY work:D well they’ve helped me:)

I HAVE A BAD BACK WHEN I AM ON THE BIKE ALONG RIDE IT STARTS TO HURT BIG TIME

Probably to much Jig’a’Jig

I went to a doctor with similar complaints a few years ago, and ended up on about 12 different prescriptions. (3 Hypertension, 1 Cholesterol-lowering, two pain killing, 1 Anti-Stroke, and several for cardiac care, others I don’t know) and was declared permanently disabled. It did net me a prescription for tramadol (synthetic opiate), up to 5 times a day, and a Muscle relaxant 3 times day. Just a warning, if you go to a surgeon, expect to be cut, and if you go to a pill pusher, expect pills to be pushed.

Sure its worth it? I’m not. After you get into the medical system, its too late.

Oh! Have you given any thought to how hard it is to carry a cane on a motorcycle? You need a folding cane, but it can be done.

I think I’d look for a better riding position, first. I’m just saying…

your getting old…no need to see anyone just grin and bear it./…

You can get it for £20 if you go to the school of Osteopaths on Borough Hih Street. Sounds scary getting treated by students, but i went to them a couple of time with my dislocated shoulder and they were fab, you just get a few extra people in the room for the examination.

Most of them are nearly qualified and just need the hands on experience so you dont get no newbie fecker pulling you around lol

your geting old…

I know exactly how you feel, but then my hip got fucked in a off. I gym and cycle 5 days a week but every morning when I wake up I have to hobble around like an oldman, usually lasts about 5 minutes.

Er…yes.
Next question

is you getting old

Figured as much!  :D:blink:

not sure about the “school of Osteopaths on Borough Hill Street” but then again am always keen for a cheep and cheerfull barrow-job

what is old…anyone got any ideas…is it age or how you feel or both or one or the other…or how often you pee at night…what?

when you complain more than you praise???

after years on the bike and gym and playing rugby my back is ****ed.

I have been to sooo many chiropractors linked to my rugby club and osteopaths (including the school on borough high street) i’ve had accupuncture, epidurals , hypnosis and even an operation to remove a bit of my slipped disc.

I have a orthopaedic bed and can’t sleep on my front without waking up in the morning like an old man.

not surprisingly i dont have the GREATEST faith in the medical system where backs are concerned.

All about sound back management in the beginning…

says Harry Hindsight…

I think you are just getting stress because you know your bike (GXR600) is not going to be ready by the 18th of april!!!:w00t::hehe:

It’ll be ready
