Alarm disc lock for scooters (and bigger bikes too!)

Dear all

I was Remembering my happy days on a scooter in London, and considering so many don’t have high levels of security, etc and that most are stolen by means of screw driver and a bloody cheek…I thought I’d add this for your attention:

Oxford boss lock-£50 or less (if I rememeber) -it’s basically a disk lock but it has a built in alarm of about 100db I think…nothing is 100% theft proof but the noise will attract attention and cosidering most scooters don’t have an alarm, this is the next best thing…I have had mine years, changed batteries once (watch batteries and impossible to remove without allen key etc and know how) and slightest movement sets it off…use it to this day on my 600…

iv got one of these… the monster one… good little things they are… but mines welll sensitive

ive got the aldi version
im going on the bases that my starter motor doesn’t work (i push start it:P), the engine is covered in oil, and nothing is really nickable, that’s all i need.

This is the way forward as far as disk locks go IMO:

Doesnt say much for the brand does it.

Those ‘round’ keys seem to suck…

…as with most things, ‘penetration’ seems to be the best!

(see my post above)

The Oxford “Boss” is probably the best on the market.

One of the few with Thatcham (money grabbing freeloaders) approval. Oh. Doesn’t have a round key.
