The accident occurred because the tests were carried out without chocks (very naughty!) and the engine power reached the limits of the parking brake (did all 4 engines at once instead of one at at time, very naughty!). When the aircraft moved forward the engineer was caught by surprise and he focused on the braking system instead of reducing engine thrust. The thrust wasn’t pulled back until 9 secs after movement started and the aircraft crashed into the wall 2 secs later.

ps Meant to say that, typically French, they refuse to publish the report in English, despite it being the language of aviation
Listen Keith - Chenster pointed out the fact that the article was full of anti-Arab invective - and he had to edit the f*cking thing because of it.I’m quite happy for people to have the freedom of speech to rip the p1ss out of arabs if they want to - to the point of defending that right - but I’m half a one - and if they do I’m gonna stick up for them OK?
Have to say I agree with Sid on this; there is a lot of half hidden anti-Arab stuff like this around these days. Well done to Chenster for editing his posts.
The trend to see all Arabs as fanatical idiots with too much money is no different from the suggesting black folk are all drug dealing gangsters or white Europeans are all right wing Daily Mail readers - it’s all ugly.
FWIW my ex was Arab (an Emiriati) and introduced me to a little of Arab culture which is full of wonderful romantic, sensual and well-mannered ideals that we sadly hear nothing of.
