from a mess of oil and crumpled metel to getting this bike back on the road…yesterday was taxed and MOT’d…and i went for a little joy ride…its taken me two years to get her back into action…and she pulled in 3rd gear like a brand new 750…:D…
i can beleive ive waited 2 whole years of pain staking work and fiddling on a next to nothing budget…
even mrs smiled (who cant stand bikes) gave me encouragement when i was ready to throw it all in…thank god for her i tell ya…
so here she is…my GSXR 750 Slingshot 1989 …everyone who knows me knows just how much this bike means to me…;).
was it only 2 years ago that we recovered that bike, i cant even remember which is which, was that the petrol station or the A4 one [ so many i cant keep up]
im just trying to sort out the idle on her as the needles in the carbs are abit sticky…and the front fairing needs replacing as its cracked in places aswell as the tank…but my main concern was getting her on the road…
terry…when you ride her mate she’s abit grumpy under 5 grand…i think i’ll need to get the carbs ultrasonic cleaned again but ive stuck in some ‘hotshots’ cleaner and she gave out about 10% increase in power…enough to get my attention and scare the shit out of me for a split second…you know what thease are like anyway dont ya…if you let your gaurd down she’ll spit you off with no mercy:D…
going to get some advice on www.oldskoolsuzuki.com in a min so i can get her finer points tweaked…she’ll be right as rain by the time you ride her i should imagine…;).
choprocker:…thanks john…yeaaaa…i resisted riding her with my leathers and got out my RX-7 and gix jacket…yum-yum…:w00t:.
No probs Shane I’ll just keep it @ over 5k :D…And not to worry to much bout the spittin off, she’s only the baby one, I’ve got her big brother :PShe looks sweet Mate, well chuffed you got her back on the road
