from knowing daneview and shiver on here who have roughly that same year’s bike. I’d say don’t get one as your daily rider.
Looks like it came out of the back of a van (be still my aching sides).
Any Italian bike, I would say full main dealer service history with receipts.
Otherwise walk away.
^^what Kev said
Been in an accident…so was Cat d’d…seller sounds genuine but the listing belies his words.
As kev said , if its italian…you want a encyclopedia sized reciept book…service history…and low number of owners…this bike has had 5 owners and he has spent a lot of money on bumflufferies recently…not the mark of someone who was not thinkin about keeping the bike…now he wants to sell?..why?
walk away…
As for choice of bike…RSV’s are the nuts(if you can get on with how a twin rides)…grab a factory model dripped in ohlins etc if your budget allows…early ones are not that much more expensive now for a lot more metal/carbon.

Hey Amit,
Happy New Year bud.
I had one of these, it was a 2003 RSV-R with all the OZ and Ohlins goodies, it was sh1t, stay well clear.
That one looks quite expensive too.
What exactly is the appeal, as there may be better bikes of this ilk out there?
Rich
Just out of interest Rich what did you find **** about it?
Just out of interest Rich what did you find **** about it?
Build quality was rubbish
Finish was rubbish
It was very lazy in the turn
It promised so much, yet delivered so little
The dashboard was dated when the bike was new, it looks ridiculous now
The standard can, is, quite frankly, comedy wrapped in metal
The first rsv’s (the one in the link) look so dated now, colour schemes and body shape (the mk2 version, the one I had, looks much better)
And if you’re going to ride a thou, it needs to have a whole lot more than 130bhp to be involving
Oops… Started WW3…
Well Rich, want a change from the Fazer now and want to get onto a sports bike… RSV looks interesting however need to a local dealer so I can get a blast out it…
Else fireblade?
Dunno
I agree with the dated look of them and the paint finish not being great…some are pushing 15 years now…That said , some of the metalwork and small touches are amazing, Standard cans on most bikes of that era look like chimneys strapped on the side…
As for 130bhp being uninvolving and the steering being ****…I would have to disagree…RSV’s have always turned well… the punch from any twin engine over 100bhp is enough to crick a neck and will have more torque than a modern blade or gixxer thou lower down in the rev range making it more usable on everyday roads, depends what you are used to riding…If you are coming off a 6, there is no contest…and they sound like an aircraft taking off with loud pipes on.
Horses for courses methinks

Amit mate, l think it looks lovely but you know how temperamental Italians are… How about an R1? But be ready to replace the stator around every 20-25k… However apart from that never had any issues with my old bike…
Believe me, it stills puts a smile on my face, 7 years on!
Maybe it’s just my expectations that need to be managed.
When I ride a bike, that’s what I want to do, ride. I want to be involved, I want to be up and down the box, I want to be part of it.
The bikes I’ve had are as follows;
Aprilia RS125
GSXR400 X 2
GSXR750 X 3
RSV-R X 1
GSXR1000 (current bike)
The only one that was a disappointment was the mille. I did loads of work to it before I rode it, including an aftermarket can (sounded great) and couldn’t wait to ride it. First time out, up to temperature, get the tyres warm and then give it the berries, revs rise, lots of torque and you feel the power build, pulling well waiting for the real power to come, then the bike cuts out! I think “what’s gone on here” look at the dash and sure enough, rev limiter!!
Where is it, where’s the power, all that promise and nothing it’s flat. I understand a twin is about grunt more than scream, but it’s a thou, it needs to take your breath away.
So if you want a sportsbike, get a sportsbike, if you want a tourer, get a tourer, but please don’t get something that looks like a sports bike and rides like a tourer with low bars, it doesn’t make any sense.
I wouldn’t bother with a sports 600, as it won’t be enough of a change from your fazer, if you want a sportsbike on a budget, then a gsxr750 would be a good step up, or as mentioned, an r1 or gsxr1000 (you can have a go on mine if you’ve not ridden one).
If you want more of a sports tourer, then something like a honda vfr750/800 a honda firestorm or something along those lines (obviously I don’t know your budget, so this is all the cheap end of the market type stuff).
If you really want something a little special, then maybe a honda sp2, but please, please don’t get a Suzuki tl1000 of any description.
I’ve been thinking about a GSXR750 K9 after doing an insurance quote and it came up under £400 full comp with pillion cover, european cover, break down cover and riding other bikes. At 22 yrs old (which I will be in march) for a bike of that capability is not bad at all. I’m still not sold on a sports bike. I’ll have to do some serious thinking.
Daniel, you’ll be sold after the first good ride, it’ll blow you away and nothing else will make sense again.
Bikes are made for riding, get involved.
I do about 16K a year on my bike so comfort has to be there. But then my brain tells me it won’t get any more comfortable the older I get.
well i ride a aprilia tuono and it always make me grin from here:D to--------------------------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ----to here:D
no major dramas with it
nothing wrong with a blade , gsxr or the like but rich2302 take a longer deep hard look at italian bikes though
somebody say SP2?..
