nothing like a rugby tackle to finish of a high speed chase. I bet his last job was in the dukes of hazard
What was his motivation? Just fancied a blast?
Probably a bad break-up. Poor guy.
I don’t see the problem…
I dunno about you people, but I am kinda glad that if this had happened in the UK, quite a lot of questions would be being asked of that police officer.
To ensure that he could justify rugby tackling a person who was sitting stationary on a motorcycle. If you can justify it, fine, but the idea that you just rugby tackled a person sitting stationary on a motorcycle, because of the offence they had committed…isn’t that punishment? Isn’t that the police deciding that an offender should be punished, and is that something that the police should be doing?
I would have no issue if that officer had drawn a weapon, told him to get off the bike, get down on the floor and put his hands behind his head. America is a dangerous place and the police have a right to protect themselves.
Just seems odd to flying tackle a person.
About America being dangerous and stuff. The excessive use of force there is ok, and nobody will get punished for that. And they do it because they can, and that is wrong on so many levels.
Police there is no longer taught how to reason with person, but how to behave when you have shot someone in order not to be guilty of it. And police officers are not even top 10 most dangerous jobs in US. Electrician and fishermen are in top 10. That says a lot about country which loves their guns so much.
The US police often seem to act like vengeful thugs - knocking him off the bike was unnecessary aggression and force - I mean FFS he didn’t even check if the bike had crash bungs - so the clutch casing probably cracked when it hit the deck!
Seriously though - reminds me of a news report a few years back when a British historian and broadcaster Felipe Fernandez-Armesto who was attending an academic conference in the US was knocked to the ground by a US cop for ‘Jaywalking’ - Fernandez Armesto is a bespectacled suit wearing 56 year old academic and the cop just knocked his feet from under him simply because he was crossing the street in the wrong place FFS! - when he asked to see the cops ID 5 other policemen jumped on him pinning him to the ground! If that’s how they treat a middle aged, posh British academic wearing a suit I’m wondering how they treat less socially privileged members of their population?

“very humiliating procedures and even had his box of peppermints confiscated”
These yanks. They just dont know when enough is enough
Yeah - I bet the sadistic bastards even ban peppermints in Guantanamo.
