I just got a quote for my car insurance from Admiral and amazingly they told me that given it’s a car policy I didn’t need to declare my motorcycle accidents. Funny that as dropping these reduced my premium by about £200
I still got them to write on the insurance notes that I’ve disclosed these accidents just in case I’ve misunderstood them.
Did you guys knew about that? The operator on the phone even checked with their manager. It seems logical since bike NCBs are not valid… but that sounds like news to me.
From my experience, it depends who you talk to. I think they have some freedom to consider them in the quote or not. When I got a new policy on my second bike, the guy at BikeSure I spoke to said he would put the NCB on my other bike through for the quote, even though technically they shouldn’t.
As you said, as long as you have it in writing that you declared the accidents, then nothing to worry about.
