Admiral insurance - not accepting speed awareness courses now

And then insurers wonder why we call them thieving c*nts. I’m a bit perplexed though. The article says the police do not see this as a conviction? If this is true then why do you have to declare you went on a speed awareness course?

It tells them something about your driving/riding habits. likewise these new black boxes some drivers can have fitted now, relays info on your driving standard, thus affecting you insurance up or down.
thats what i presume anyway

I will say this about Admiral, they aren’t interested in bike claims. I have an on going claim, and they aren’t interested in bike claims so no affect on premiums.

And I managed to sweet talk the lovely lady in Halifax to a lower premium.

Because they will ask you.

diamond insurance (same group as admiral) took the liberty to charge my boss’s card £ 411 without telling anyone, because one of the named drivers in the policy has had an accident years ago and they have found out (since she’s insured with admiral herself), so they made a retroactive adjustment to her premium.

i hit the roof with them when we found out, not because they didnt have the right to take the money but because they could have left someone without meanings to pay for their food whilst 400 pounds more or less wouldnt make a dent in their business.
so they were very apologetic and admitted they should have advised her before charging out of the blue, and we agreed to make payments by installments. and i got her next renewal premium cut in half as well as a gesture of good willing.

she only found out there was money taken as she was checking her bank account…if she had not checked they would probably got away with it.

Might as well take the 3 points… Works out cheaper.

It’s been a while since I last renewed but I could have sworn they asked you about convictions?

I probably wasn’t paying too much attention at the time :w00t:

That is what has changed at Admiral. They have started asking different questions.

Depends on how many insurance policies you have. If you have a car and bike policy it would probably work out more expensive long term.

And on how many more points you think you might collect in the next few years…
