The fame of this company’s drivers extends around the world! Was talking to a lady at breakfast just now (I’m 11 hours ahead of GMT at the moment) who was in the UK over the summer, where she rented a CBF600S for a week and took it all around the UK. The day before she was due to leave, she was on the left lane of a two lane road near Paddington, going at about 15 miles per hour, when an Addison Lee MPV that was in the right lane decided to cut onto the left lane without looking and went right into her side. From what she said, it sounded like she was lucky to be alive - the bike was trashed and she went flying.
If this were an isolated incident I’d understand…but I’ve seen their drivers do this kind of thing time and time again (including very nearly getting killed by one myself). Seriously, do these guys go on special courses or something?
That’s quite horrible. I know what you mean about AL. I used to use them as taxi now and then for moving house as a student (they’re quite cheap) and they used to do all sorts of things. It must be company policy or something
If I see AL, I stay the f back and let them go.
I think Simon is married with kids. Jump on it Martin
Rofl! Yes as blu mentioned I’m married and have been for years ;-). We just got to talking over breakfast - she picked up on the British accent when I let her take the last piece of papaya and it went on from there. Perfectly innocent I can assure you.
There is a vile and scurrilous rumour (to which I do not subscribe) that AL do not insist on their drivers having a UK licence. They will take you on for as long as your licence lasts in this country then bid you adieu.

Simon is one of those people you can have very pleasant conversations with, same as Geoff really.
my company insists on booking with AL so i have no choice, cant comment on the drivers as i’ve never been blessed with close encounters on my travels, i know the bike couriers are usually quite good on the job.
