active 8

hi has anyone got this or is using this stuff… its supposed to be the nuts but i need to know if its ok with the wet clutches and stuff??

I got some of this at the bike safe show earlier in the year - the guy totally sold me with his little demo!!

TBH i don’t know enough about mechanic’s to give you a full run down of its performance or other brands for that matter!), but certainly changing gear i can barely feel anything - its only when you check the revs after that i realise its changed! And to prove my lack of knowledge, i ride a zx9r - no idea if it has a wet clutch or not, just know that its got one!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope this helps a little!?!

This has come up a few times…

In my opinion why does a major manafacturer of Oil like Putolene, Silkolene, Motol etc etc need to have an additive with it. I’m pretty sure they have in the billion pound empires good R&D.

Buy good oil prefareably fully synthethic and let the monkeys with their garage projects stay as garage projects. In all fairness its likely to cause clutch slip with a wet clutch anyway. (which is most unless you own a Ducati  )

However that all said his little demo with the lathe and the additive is impressive. But doesnt it make you question what quality oil he used to add the active8 too

Ditto - it’s just modern snake oil.
The demonstration I saw on the web is not carried out correctly and is therefore meaningless.
I would expect to see some proper scientific evidence to back up any claims if it really worked, but there is none.
These sort of things have been about for years, and none of them actually work.

wll i have heard a few different opinions on this but most seem to really rate it…

I think I lot of it is in the mind.
Looking at the main constituent of activ8, they use an oil based carrier incorporating chlorinated hydrocarbons. Now the chlorine in these compounds can combine with any moisture or other nasties in the engine and become corrosive, presenting a real problem for bearing and other engine surfaces.
I for one would rather put pigeon’s milk in my engine…

But thge man selling it said it was “the dogs borrocks”.

Er…Or was that what he was talking?

We use this on both our bikes and cars - we think its good stuff

:D:D:D:D
