ACF-50

Just given my bike a good coating of ACF-50 and thankfully I’d read a few others’ experiences of using it before I did mine.

I left it on the stand and started it up and yep, the white clouds started billowing up from the engine casing as the temperature increased.

I’d have crapped it if I hadn’t known what to expect :stuck_out_tongue:

I love the smell of burning ACF-50 in the morning (any time really)!

haha. it happened to me and i nearly chocked to death. i’m glad it only took about a day of commuting to burn off. going to put another coat on for winter.

I need to do mine. For the last few years I’ve had that initial smoke bomb effect and then every time it rains that distinctive smell comes back for a little while … but the furr of death doesn’t

I washed my bike yesterday for the first time since ACF-ing it - the water just beads up and rolls straight off all the bits that were treated.

The dirt seems to stick a bit more than usual though (especially on the fiddly bits that I could wipe on with a rag, but I think I probably put it on a bit thick with the spray)

Ha ha, it’s great stuff and I need to do the stinkbomb next weekend!

Just ordered my first can as well. Never bother with the zx6, but want to keep the blade looking tidy

the Scotoil corrosion stuff does the same. Wish I had read this thread first as I did crap myself

If your buying it in a can , put it in some warm water ( the can ) for a bit and it goes on much easier.
