It depends on what you want to see! If you want look big monuments, go to Paris’center. if you want the sea and sun, go near saint tropez. If you like the beautiful montain landscapes, go in te Vosges or in the Alpes, if you like the campaign, the stone houses, go in Bretagne, if you like the nature and if you want to bathe in rivers you can go in the Ardèche…

How does that work in practice? Does it apply to second hand bikes or just new? If so, then is everyone hanging on to their old bike/importing bikes from other countries? Are bikers just buying bikes up to 600cc now?

Ok, I have a serious one.
Why is it that everytime I go to Lille there is always a massive bike rally? I never could find out what they were rallying against. 3 visits, 3 massive ride outs with 100’s of bikes.
Also, which is the prefered way of greeting fellow bikers, we have the nod, do French bikers prefer a wave or is sticking the leg out the way to go?
So, I’m never go to Lille but I think you aren’t very lucky!!!
In France, which is the prefered way of greeting fellow bikers is a sign with the hand when you meet one, we have the nod too when we are stop at a red light. When I exceed a motorcyclist, I do a sign with my leg for thank missed me

For example: the number 1 new bike sold in France in 2006 sold more units than the UK top 10 new bikes put together. Side-car use in France is estimated to be around 200 times more than in the UK too. Why is this? Surely it’s not just the weather…
