Yeah and I was wearing gloves cant you see. It ws an infection control area! Ha Ha
Good work chap. Rather you than me.
Well played Hertscol!
I’ve abseiled a few times in the Lake District and being a crip, there’s a twist - one’s butt is in a sling and there a nice device that can be fitted to the abseil so that one can pull up. It’s a 1:2 pulley affair and a pull-down bar, after half a dozen pulls, you slide it up a bit and wash rinse repeat. I did the 60’ cliff there in about 10 minutes last time (when I was built like the real Arnie some years ago); it’s nice to get to the top, dump the pulley and abseil down again.
At the time, I wanted to do the Uni tower in Holloway Road (about 200’), up and back down again, but getting kit and support and permission together in one place proved too much
awesome, now you need to jump off the top n glide down!! Lol I’d love to give abseilling a go again or try rap jumping!!!

I used to do Army Cadre demonstrations… i got boring at the top waiting for the signal to drop… so we started putting bets on who could do it in the least jumps…
Funny thing was the building had windows part the way down it, so if you intended on winning the bet you had to push so far out and freeline the rope!!
All good until you jump to hard, start spinning, panic and so close the rope off, causing you to hurtle towards the wall very quickly… that lad ddnt win the bet!! lol!
