Been looking around at possible bikes to replace my Tuono with ( when she finally goes ) and am REALLY missing my sportsbike fix . Probably going to look into the Supersport market rather than going for litre bikes again as I am finding the bigger engines largely unuseable on todays road networks and , to be honest , on the trackdays I have done I would probably have been better off on a 600-750 than worrying about a 1000 spitting me off all the time .
Am seriously looking into a Daytona 675 but , never havin experienced the Marque ( apart from a short ride on a Speed Triple 955i ) I would be interested in hearing about its plus / negative points from those who HAVE tried one or even own one ( Curtis / Arnie / Frederick ) ? - Obviously - being a Kwak freak I will also be looking into the ZX6R but I reckon the Daytona may just have the little extra something over the ZX6R that I am looking for ( although not quite sure what THAT may be LOL ) If it helps when giving feedback I am 6ft 4 and around 13 stone so would be interested to hear what you reckon " comfort " wise ( obviously I WILL be test riding one though to make up my own mind ! )
well don’t ask Curtis because the man have pass more time getting is lower exhaust system a few time (exhaust valve is know to create problems if you do not WD40 it regularly…
Short of that and a petrol reserve light broken LED, never got any issues with mine in the last 2 years that I have it…
As far a power is concerned, the triple engine is a peach, power is always there…
also bonus us that (as Arnie can testify) £400 will get you as brand new set of fairing and tank on ebay so you can change colour every time you bin it

Hi Fred , Tthanks for that , I have noticed the banner on yours and Arnies signature but I kinda guessed that it was a " tongue in cheek " pisstake to stop people from buying what is actually a bloody good bike ?? - If I am wrong then please set me right LOL
I’m 6’2" and a little heavier than you I think and the ZX6R was the only 600 I really felt comfortable on, the 600rr and the 675 felt very small. The GSXR600 was better but the ZX6 is a proper sized bike still. Mine is a 599cc 07 model and has done 19,000 miles in a year, is still looking and feeling brilliant, never gone wrong and is just manic, like riding a rabid greyhound Some other bikes were fast but didn’t have the excitment of the 6, even the ZX10 felt bland in comparison, the engine in the 6 really is brilliant.I kept going through phases of thinking I wanted more torque, a lazier ride etc but when I tried it I realised that I loved the excitement the ZX6R gives. Even my K4 750 is less exciting than the 6, even if it is a bit quicker, I still prefer the 6. Because of the mileage I’d find it hard to sell now for sensible money so I’ll be keeping it but there isn’t anything I think I’d prefer. It’s plenty fast enough for the road, the only problem is the lack of luggage space but I think that’s a general problem with newer bikes, not something specific to the ZX6.If you try a stock one be aware that they loosen up nicely after 6k miles and replacing the can helps a lot, at least removong the exhaust valve. The demo bikes feel a bit flat compared to mine.
Reckon you might be right in going with the ZX6R Steve . I knew my long standing attraction to all things Kawasaki had some kind of reasoning behind it
I stopped using the Putoline oil that the dealer filled it with and switched to Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=558811 and not only is the top end much quieter but the oil consumption has reduced significantly too.
I’m 6’3 and I find my legs disagree with the 675, just too damned small for me. Can’t believe you’re gonna get rid of the Tuono, I love mine. My mate has a 675 and the Big T just about keeps up with it in the twisties, those Daytonas are really well set up for British roads.
S3 - don’t get me wrong , the Tuono is an awesome bike which does pretty much anything you ask of it but , an it’s a big but , it just doesn’t float my boat at the moment LOL - may well go back to one in years to come
I’ve done 18k in 11 months on my 675… Just look after it and it will be good for you and don’t break. Regular oil top ups every month is normal with this bike.
Parts are cheap etc. I’m 6.2 and fell comfy on this bike. True is I spent more hanging off it than sitting on it but your choice how you gonna ride it It has a long seat and it’s taller than other 600. It’s narrow but coz of 3 cylinders.
Buy one and there are only 2 options… You will love it or you will hate it
Hi, ok ok i know im new here and should introduce myself first but hey-ive been “lurking” for a few months
I own a daytona 675 in the SE colours (special edition), bought her new in March and no complaints here (ok its only done 2k since i bought her but hey :D), my fella uses her to commute to and from london every other weekend and hes got no complaints either (and he has a 05 zx10 and reckons the daytona is good fun)
Im 5ft 5 and do struggle abit with its height as it is a tall bike but apart from that…
Thanks for that " 675babe " ( and welcome to the family by the way ) SE colour scheme looks beautiful by the way I guess I am just going to have to try one and make my own mind up . Does the " other half " frequent zx10r.co.uk - my other family LOL
well we all know i have had loads of problems with mine but it does seem to be 1 of a kind nobody else i know of has had as many problems as me, but i ask myself what other bike would i want?? the answer is there isn’t one, now touch wood since i’ve had my downpipes replaced, now on the 4th one ive had no problems for nearly 2 months :D:D:D yes they do eat a lot of oil but i only have to top it up once a month usually, i love the bike to ride, i haven’t rode many otrhers apart from the cbr600rr and the r6 and personally i preder the trumpet, my advice is to pop down to north city in chigwell and speak to ken, top bloke will giv ya a test ride no probs as long as ya got ya license and ya get loads a coffee n tea too if ya want it
Cheers Curtis , may well pop over there to see them . I do know the Sales Manager at On Yer Truimph pretty well too so will see what they can do for me there - would be sods law to see me riding away on a bluddy Speed Triple though LOL
