6 month Ban looming

Hey all,

picked myself up another 3pts last week for speeding, taking me up to 12. A few people have said its a straight forward 6 month ban.

I’d booked to go to the TT this year, so in preparation, if anyone wants to go see the detals below. looking for my money back (£188) as i know the tickets go up in price near the time.

cheers, ban means also i cant do my cadwell open pit in july with focused events, trying to organise an acu licence so i can still ride on circuit.

Was it a Gatso or were you actually written up. If it was a Gatso you’ve still got a chance. Just pray to your God (whichever one you follow) that the NIP doesn’t ever arrive in 14 days.

it was a transit van parked up with tape running all day, we got a letter 3 weeks ago as the car is reg’d to her, so put her name as the driver.
Recieved a letter back on thursday saying she needs to re-think who it was coz the video showed a male behind the wheel (video grap included)

Not likely with video evidence. You also risk being (read: almost certainly) stuffed with court costs on top of any fine. And you’ll still get the automatic ban.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your probably shafted.

He could argue undue hardship if he needs his license for work, worked for me but I suspect he’ll need a solicitor to make it work.

By the time you pay for a solicitor and all of that, you might be better off just taking the ban. 6 months isn’t that long… sucks that its summer though.

My brother tried that, he drove for a living. Magistrate banned him for 3 months as an example, he appealed and the sentence was upheld.

What’s the surprise? Your a motorist, any sort, so your guilty.

Even if you go to court and prove yourself innocent you might still get stuffed with court costs these days.

Innocent till proven guilty? Forget it. Your a motorist who registered your car, taxed it and kept it legal. You’re stuffed.

Daily Mail/Express reader? No. Just an advocate for a * fair justice* system.

maybe one of your mates who has A CLEAN LICENCE WAS DRIVING?? People are often forgetful with a few bits of paper with the queens head on!! :D:D

with video of the driver… me thinks not… shafted, take it on the chin! you were speeding, you got caught!

I do know someone with about 18 points on their licence.

If you can prove that losing it would cause strain then sometimes you can get let off.

Say you’ll take the points and go on a speed awareness course / Bikesafe.

Look sorry in court.

Might be worth a shot.
