26,512 motorbikes had their mileages 'clocked' last year

The figures about reduced mileage were revealed as a result of Freedom of Information (FoI) request to the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (Vosa).

They show that in the year to March 2010, the recorded mileage on MOT certificates for 669,127 cars had dropped compared with that recorded on the previous certificates issued 12 months earlier.

**There was a similar problem with 26,512 motorbikes ** and 19,224 delivery vans.

Tsk tsk - what a wicked world.:D:w00t:

there must be quite a few on here whos mileage actually goes backwards through lack of use

( i confess, i havent ridden as much this year as i should have)

Cheeky fecker!

Mine is just hibernating with a sick front tyre over the winter to be reborn in spring once I have sorted out some permanent accommodation.

As for the clocking I know several people who have done it. I never like buying second vehicles, as they can hide so much.

If VOSA reckon that’s the number of clocked bikes, it’s probably a lot higher.

Remember, it’s still only voluntary to declare mileage when a vehicle changes hands.

Almost all VOSA statistics are dubious.

The data was taken from MOT certificates old guy.

In which case, add all the under three year old bikes that may well have been clocked but not yet had mileage recorded by VOSA.
