I guess if not all, most of it would be useful for people, even as a friendly, idiot proof step by step manual.

Probably not to be honest. All of that is beyond beginner level and is generally different for every phone. Creating your own kernel would definitely count as advanced (beyond me for sure) and I don’t see why anyone on this forum would need to do it.
I could probably cover flashing a custom recovery on some of the major devices and most of the rest is pretty easy from that point on, but as I hinted with the posting of my video, it would be aimed at a beginner level. I’m not a programmer, I’m not a developer, I just know my way around Android quite well.
Except kernel and governor everything else is pretty straight forward, mostly because you dont have to have all build environments set. Agree with cover 3-4 main manufactures would be cool.
