5k for the master cylinder… But he’ll throw in the rest of the bike for free
Nice looking bike though. Yoyo looks after his bikes so I’m sure it’s in good order.
Aww man, this really was something I was in the market for when I got my first sport bike. Its just a shame its come too late
Good luck with the sale, bud. I’m sure whoever takes that master piece of your hands will have had a right deal!
Maybe see you at BM if you’re along tomorrow…
strange, a week has almost pass, im not getting as many phone calls as i expected, is my asking price too much? had a look around market, think my price for the package is very decent… or shall I put her back to standard if that will be easier to sell? im not reli experienced on selling bikes in uk, any suggestions?
I find this price guide pretty useful because it analyses prices that bikes are actually sold for rather than advertised for.
It’s not infalible because so many things effect price BUT it gives you an insight into what buyers expect to pay, what turns them on or off price wise and gets them to pick up the phone to call you in the first place.
It’s that funny thing … the mythical ‘going rate’ for the model of your type and year.
Now the other thing to remember is that , in the buyers mind they are thinking of a factory standard bike with some wear and tear according to year.
That makes a mint bike with loads of useful extras a lot harder to sell for a realistic price…
So the price guide lists the BASIC bike like this,
“From a private seller, expect to pay between £3,900 and £4,300 and aim to pay £4,200.”
So now we have a price expectation of £4200 (a ‘Going Rate’) the main problem is persuading a buyer to add to that to allow for condition and extras.
Some people don’t care (within limits) how clean and unmarked a bike is because they would rather save money and do it themselves.
SOME people are actually on the look out for a beautiful minter like yours and will pay no matter what …but they are rare unfortunately.
So where does it leave you? Well the old saying of ‘strip the bike and sell goodies seperatley’ is still valid. You will easily get 50%of the price of a goodie sold on Ebay where, if sold on he bike, will go for peanuts…I once sold a bike with pretty expensive mods and the buyer didn’t want to pay much for them because “I don’t want them anyway!”
So you do have the situation where people will not pay £800 for £2500 worth of extras…again SOMEBODY MIGHT … but it’s bloody hard to find them.
Sorry about going on but I wanted to set the scene - what would I do?
Strip as much as you canPut an Ebay Classified Ad up (just because Ebay gets more traffic then the others ) Or Autotrader or MCN might as well add GumtreeBang on and on and on in the ad about how mint your bike isStick it on for £4500 (stripped) but indicate in the ad you MIGHT be open to very near offers for a quick sale…make sure you include your mobile number …but Don’t use Ebays ‘Best Offer’ option - that not only costs you a final value fee but encourages wanchors to offer anonymously without seeing the bike and either not turn up or offer even less when they see it in the flesh. The idea is to get real honest buyers to phone you and establish a buyer seller relationship.(Timewasters hate speaking to buyers - they prefer texts and emails…because they are dishonest loosers. You COULD fo an Ebay auction but that 's like ringing the bell for complete wanchors and timewasters…avoid if you can but a £4400 start might get someone who appreciates your bike to go up to £4500.
Anyway - thats my 2ps worth - might be a load of bll-locks - and remember free advice is worth what you pay for it!
