1998 yamaha sr125 front wheel bearings

took my front wheel off today, to find that my bearings are knackered and need replacing. as the Haynes Manuel is designed for the xt and the sr, it keeps talking about drum brakes (on the xt, disk on the sr), which is confusing me. as a result of this i cant work out how to get the barings out.
i have a spare wheel from my dads old sr, but the disk is on the other side, and so are the spacers (so the speedo cable will come out the other side of the hub). is it allright to put my tyre and inner tube on this wheel, and put it in backwards?
thanks

I’m a bit confused. Wheels can commonly go in either way round, it’s just the tyres that should only go in for a particular direction of rotation. What stops you putting them in the “wrong way round” is the brake caliper.

Unless you have a spare mounting on the other fork leg, a single disc braked wheel can only go in one way.

Plan A: Try turning the wheel around to see if it will fit. If it does, just put the tyre on to suit.

Plan B: Take the loose wheel and the new bearings and new grease sealsto an independent motorcycle grease monkey. If he has the right tools, it’s a twenty minute job to do the swap.

thanks, sorry forgot to update this, the other wheel wouldn’t fit, the bracket for the speedo cable got in the way.
got new bearings fitted today, im mobile again

Thanks
