13.11.11 Remembrance Sunday. Rideout.

10 am departure from the Ace. Buy yer poppy there if you don`t have one. Poppies are obligatory for this ride

No 125s, BMWs, Messerschmit 109s.

Ride at your own risk & don’t be a nobber. Remember to turn up at your setting off point with a full tank. We will be using the cornerman system which is explained in the link below, ask before we set off if you’re not sure about it:

This will be a non-direct scenic route through Kent, with a lunch stop and a visit to the RAF memorial at Capel le Ferne.

At Capel le Ferne we will have a couple of sensible minutes and plant our poppies. Then have a cup of tea before…

Scramble Scramble for the ride back home with shot out undercarts for a crash landing in the Ace car park.

Chocks away 10am.

Possible pick up at Thurrock services for the Free French Airforce contingent. Mais dit oui s`il vous plait devant 9.00hrs Samedi 12.11.11. Autrefois nous ne visitez pas cette location pour raison de securité.

Is there a pick-up at Box?

Dont know which would be least welcome, a BMW or a KTM, but in any case they’ll both have their locks on this weekend :pinch:

Non, il n`y a pas un “pick up” a Box. Parce que Box ne sont pas un point sur la route.

La Box et un expression tres risqué dans La Resistance.:stuck_out_tongue:

I think one of these Messerschmits would be less welcome!

Would love to join you on this one Chris, however i’ve got some plumbing chores to deal with on saturday, if I manage to get the job done i’ll see you at Ace.

Plumbing chores? Elucidate, help may be at hand.

Non les Messerschmits comme ca sont beacoups bienvenue comme un Panzer ou un Tigre.

Parce que tout les trois avais un preference pour etre en panne.

What about Focke-Wulf 190s?

Yea didnt like to mention them as they were the best fighter plane in the air over Europe, also I wasnn sure how to spell its name and didnt want to offend anyone who could.

My favourite plane other than the Mustang.

You coming on the ride mate? - Joking aside you are most welcome:)

I love the FW-190s, they’re beautiful

I’ll try. Early mornings usually isn’t my thing, always difficult for me

What time do you plan on being at Thurrock Services, since it’s just up the road basically for me?

11 am at the petrol bowser with chocks ready to go.

11 AM?
I may just be able to manage that

Cool, I will try my best to be there!

Hrm. Is this ride-out Scooter friendly?

I would love to go on this (and I’ve been hearing “you must get on a Jetstream rideout!” for ages). I’m not certain that I’ll be conscious - I get back from Sydney at 6am on Saturday morning, so it really depends on how the jetlag plays out. If it lets me sleep reasonably on Saturday night, I could be at the Ace on Sunday morning

No as scooters are pants unlesss you a Giulliano in which case they are partial pants or cullottes which being French are desirable.

Sorry, Szymon, we are in no way anti scooter and will in future have a scooter friendly ride but to be honest they just don`t cut the mustard.:crying:

Hey, mine is about as fast as Julian’s until you get to about 90mph (although of course he’s a much more experienced rider). Ask the people on the ride out to the H cafe recently about cutting the mustard - I kept hearing comments like “I couldn’t slow down, I was trying to keep up with the guy on the scooter”

Maybe next time!

There maybe gravel ahead, to the tune of…

I will be at Thurrock if not at the Ace. Will text you on the morning to confirm before you leave the Ace.

I presume the meeting point at Thurrock is the petrol station as last time I was there with you.

i may testify in favor of Simon, he definitively can keep up but the final decision stays with the leader
