125 Ride out or just mess about town!

Hello fellow 125ers!

I am obviously quite new to biking, going on 3 months now with my little Yamaha.

I don’t know any other bikers, bar one friend who has a much bigger bike than me! And have no experience except for my CBT and a few months of commuting to and from work.

I am keen to meet some other learners and arrange a ride or two for 125’s, learn some new routes and share experience and tips, make some new friends etc.

Hands up all on 125’s that are keen as well?

Let’s organise something!

Even if just one person wants to meet up and go for a little ride somewhere, I want to start building up experience every weekend. I also have the whole week of the 14th off to mess about on my bike! =D

Even those on bigger bikes that feel like putting around with us, any company and advice would be brill.

Reply or PM me. =)

Sounds good to me

I’ve been riding since last year (passed my theory 2 weeks ago) so want to get some good practice in and pick up tips before I do my DAS, which I have yet to book. I’m available for weekend rides

Sweet, I’m sure you have more tips for me then I do for you! haha I really need to pull my theory book out actually and start practicing.

Doing anything this weekend?

I cant this weekend, whilst we’re having perfect biking weather, I need to stay in the flat whilst I get the plumbing sorted :frowning:

Haha no probs!

The realities of life are always getting in the darn way!

Just PM me when you’re free to go for a ride.

Tim will prob post up a 125 friendly ride out soon enough - he does one every few weeks. So keep an eye out on here. From there you will hopefully meet up other 125rs happy to ride out.

Good luck

there one tomorrow to mersea island nice place to visit & i might pop along to mersea on my way back from Clacton

Yeah I saw this, but I have to do something in the morning so will have to pass it up and wait for another unfortunately.

I’d be interested in joining you if you don’t mine a bigger bike rider along.
I’ve only just passed my test so I am still pretty slow.

Hi!

No i’m happy for any company

I’ll see if I get any more replies tonight and try and sort something out.

I don’t really know any good routes or where to go, hoping something can be organised collaboratively haha

Even just small rides with one other person if nothing else is going on, just want to get out there and get exposed to new roads!

Sounds great

I think you’re based Streatham way so Biggin Hill is probably a good direction to head in for country lanes without too much travelling.

Just head up the A214 up the side of Streatham common & keep going through crystal palace and beyond. When I got my bike I used to just head out in that direction and then explore.

If you see a bloke on a black & yellow bicycle, plodding up a hill, try not to run him over - it’s probably me.

Brilliant, thanks for the info, I’m gonna check it out, if you see a little silver ybr125, wave haha

Bump

Anyone keen for a ride this coming weekend?

I’m going to the newbie night at Ace Cafe tomorrow night, so if you’re there we can discuss =)

I am up for this but unfortunately I do work most weekends, but if you have whole next week off from 14th we could arrange something during the week and go for a day of ride. Most of people work during the week and have weekends off and I don’t have many chances to catch up with most of the rideouts and most of my mates strangely gave up biking when I passed my test and just like you I am looking for any company just to cruise around and explore some nice roads. I am on the big bike but only passed my test last august, still building up my experience and not showing off. Let me know if you are up for this next week and maybe we could set up a day and invite any other people if they would like to join.

I didnt know they do that :frowning:
missed out
next time lm in

Loz and co - consider doing the BikeSafe Rider Skills training day which is open to 125cc bikes. I did mine at The Warren, near Bromley, and loved every minute. I learned more in one day than I could have in months of just riding around, got to experience some lovely country roads at surprising speeds considering a copper is right on your tail and met some really good people, especially the guys running the course who are so enthusiastic about riding. Best £45 I have ever spent and that included a very nice lunch. A really fun, challenging and informative day out on a motorbike with like-minded people.
