hi guys,
ive recently bought an 05 r6, do not like the oe dunlops at all!! I understand that non uk r6’s come with michelin’s piolet powers, would anyone recomend these? I’ve also been lookin at bridgestone’s 014’s and pirelli’s corsa’s, again if anyone can recomend any of these as a suitable choice of tyre then please help
i would highly recomend pirelli diablo`s they give confidence and superb grip even in the wet
also dunlop 209s are good.
just done a track day with them on warm up time is quick an grip is phenominal
yeah, the OEM dunlops are universally hated on the R1-forum so you’re not alone. have yet to find anyone who does like them
2CTs on on my '06 r1, they’re awesome
by the way, standard fitment is a 190/50/r17 but you can now get a 190/55/r17. steeper profile, quicker steering. marginally more cash but worth it IMHO
I’ve just got a set up Michelin Sports on my '03 R6.
The guy in the shop said that the only difference between them and the CT’s are that the end of the tyre has a softer compound for track days.
id get some black ones if i was you they seem to last the longest… err and are good if you has a black bike…
i had a set of Dunslops on my R6 when i first bought it, best thing i ever did was change them. Got myself a set of pirelli diablo`s, they warm up quickly in the wet or dry, hard wearing for upright riding and very sticky for cornering and bends.
