We're excited to announce that the cover is off our latest project, the Stolen Vehicle Database. Like many of our members, we're infuriated with the number of bike thefts that take place and the complete lack of efficacy from the authorities. We think it's about time the biking community stood up to this and attempted to lower the number of bike thefts.

Measuring just 15cm x 10 cm x 5 cm, the new PAPS (Portable Asset Protection System) from Acumen is a very clever little box of tricks. It will alert you by SMS (a standard text message) sent to your mobile phone (and up to two others) if it detects movement, tilt, or a significant temperature change. Not only is the Acumen PAPS small, it is also light (less than 300 grams) making it truly portable, and with up to six months internal battery life you could even take it on holiday with you to protect your bike when parked in a garage, van, tent, etc.

Two priceless, multi-award winning, custom motorcycles also known as “Art Bikes” were stolen from a service area on the A1 on the 23rd May.
The two machines, known as Psy-Bawg and Barnstormer, are extremely well known to the international motorcycling community; as some of the world’s best examples of one-off custom engineering, having won numerous awards for design and construction across Europe and beyond.
The unique nature of the one-off hand made components makes both motorcycles very easily identifiable and totally worthless to anyone wishing to sell the bikes on, but to the team at Hawg Haven in Norwich the bikes are priceless, representing the culmination of years of dedication and hard work. Consequently business partners Jon and Terry are offering a massive £10,000 reward for information which leads to the safe recovery of Psy-Bawg and Barnstormer.

The attempted theft of a treasured Kawasaki Ninja was thwarted last week by a text message sent via Text-Alert from Datatool, the UK’s leading supplier of innovative electronic motorcycle products. Andrew Aldridge, a pub landlord and father of four from Rubery in the West Midlands, bought his Kawasaki with the Datatool Text-Alert fitted as he particularly wanted the extra security. Andy has no alternative but to park his motorbike behind his house out of earshot of the alarm, so the Text-Alert gives him extra peace of mind.

Lock up your bikes in West London say MAG (Motorcycle Action Group). West and South West London has been targeted with bike theft spree following the theft of at least a dozen bikes in the last week or so. The culprits, four white males in their early 20's have been using a silver transit van, of which the number plate has been cloned. All the following details were sent to MAG and confirmed by the police.
Warning: Four white males aged about 20 involved in these thefts all from the West/South West London area. They are driving a silver transit Y414 VLD. Be aware that this is a cloned van. They have been seen on CCTV driving away without paying from two garages. The van in question is a Silver Ford Transit, the registration number given is correct as Y414 VLD. The real van that this number is from belongs to an electrical company in Uxbridge so it highly likely you will see it about. The real van has the name of the company on the sides, the rogue van is NOT sign written. So if you see a plain silver transit on the above registration number you have found the stolen/ghosted van.
