The final Grand Prix of the 2011 FIM Motocross World Championship took place today in Fermo and Gautier Paulin and Jeffrey Herlings were the last GP winners of the season in their respective classes.The top three riders of the 2011 FIM MX1 World Championship are Antonio Cairoli, who missed his home GP because his mother passed away on Friday, Steven Frossard, who was not present either because he is still recovering from the injury he suffered in Gaildorf, and Clement Desalle, who could keep the third place in the standings.

The Grand Prix of Germany started today with the qualifying races of MX1 and MX2 at the crowded track of Teutschenthal. Antonio Cairoli and Ken Roczen were once more awarded with the Lovemytime pole position awards, as both riders dominated the qualifying races.The first race of the UEM EMX125 also took place in the German track and Samuele Bernardini did an incredible race and succeeded in finishing first, his compatriot Simone Zecchina was second and completing the top three was Tim Gajser.

Lier - This weekend’s German Motocross Grand Prix is the ninth round of the 2011 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship. It is also the second race in the back-to-back Northern-European triplet, following Sweden and preceding the Latvian GP. After last week’s set-backs in Uddevalla the Grand Prix of Germany gives MX1 rookie Shaun Simpson the perfect opportunity to get his campaign back on track. Simpson, who captured sixth position in the second moto at Glen Helen, has shown excellent speed on several occasions but poor luck and a lack of consistency have hampered his results.

LS Honda Racing rider Ken De Dycker started each moto from 15th on the gate and made an impressive improvement in each race, reaching fifth in the opening moto and eighth in the second moto. The 26-year old Belgian placed sixth overall and moved up three places to 12th in the championship. Shaun Simpson rode to 13th and 12th on Sunday. HE moves up in the Championship as well, and lies 15 now. Frenchman Frossard won the GP, ahead of Cairoli and Desalle.
