Following a disappointing weekend at Monza in 2010, during which Daisaku Sakai experienced a torrid foray onto the world stage, plus racing plans disrupted by volcanic ash clouds, Yoshimura Suzuki will again be back in World Superbike at the start of this season. The Japanese team will be on the grid at the opening round of the season at Phillip Island, with a wild-card slot for Australian rider Josh Waters.

Honda’s 2009/10 middleweight missile finally earns some Yoshimura magic. Development has been completed by Yoshimura Japan of the EEC-approved GP-Force end-can for Honda’s 2009/10 CBR600RR/ABS. The delay in production, ironically, is due to difficulty in sourcing European-specification models in Japan.

Hot on the heels of Yoshimura’s CB1000R EEC-approved Slip-On is news of the release of the Racing Mid Pipe, which eliminates the need for the stock bike’s catalyzer chamber and negates the requirement for a full system.

Development of Yoshimura’s EEC-Approved Slip-On end can for Honda’s CB600F Hornet (2007 on) has been completed and stocks will be arriving in the UK at the end of March. Featuring a newly designed stainless steel Tri-Cone end cap, mid-range and peak power are improved over stock with the dB-Killer baffle in place, with further gains once it’s removed (see attached Dyno chart). Bottom and mid-range torque are also boosted.

Micron has announced the launch of a brand new silencer for Honda’s 2007 World Supersport championship winning CBR600RR. It is, the company claims, the world’s first fully-Hydroformed underseat exhaust. The unit can be fixed directly to the standard header pipes of the CBR or, for a fully Hydroformed system, Micron’s own Serpent pipework. The end cap of the silencer unit also features carbon-fibre trim, another first for Micron.
