Racing at Bonneville, unstreamlined and with a specially tuned JAP V-twin engine running on 'pump fuel, in the category1350-A-VG, the new Brough Superior SS100 Retro clocked two runs on the morning of Thursday 1st September at 127 & 122 mph respectively, giving a mean AMA record speed of 124.98mph.

R&G Racing – the World’s number one manufacturer of crash protection – will be at the Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show which begins this week. The show takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, from November 27th to December 6th and the Alton-based company has lots on display at the UK’s number one motorcycle show, including the latest Engine Case Covers and goodies for BMW’s latest machine – the S 1000 RR Superbike.

Traditionally many owners lay up their motorcycles over the cold winter months and the option to avoid paying road tax using SORN has made ‘hibernation’ increasingly popular. Motorcycle lubricant specialist Q8Oils warn that bikes that are used infrequently can build up condensation in the engine sump, which causes emulsification, turning the oil to a milky white colour and reducing its efficiency. Q8Oils offer some simple tips for keeping the oil inside the engine in peak condition.

In 1972 Smart rode the Ducati 750 Supersport to victory at Imola, putting the big twin on the map. Paul Smart and his wife Maggie will attend the inaugural Motogiro America in Monterey California this summer. Departure is scheduled for July 13, 2008 from Monterey’s historic Cannery Row and stops include: Paso Robles and a lap on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in honour of the Red Bull MotoGP Championship. As a motorcycle racer, Smart is best known for his breakthrough win at the 200 Miles of Imola aboard a Ducati 750 Supersport.
