Over the weekend of 3-4 September the final competition in the Italian International series took place on the track in Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia), where the outstanding Ivan Lazzarini (Team Assomotor) was crowned Italian Champion in the Supermoto S1 category for the third time in a row. It was a truly great result for the rider from Pesaro, born 1986, and also for the Sidi colours.

The FIM Snowcross World Champion title is back to Sweden through the hands of Emil Ohman, the 24 years-old from Tvaran takes home his second title after winning it in 2008. The VillageShop circuit in Tuuri, the “good luck community”, as it is called by the Finnish population surely had some effect on today’s results although not for all the riders.

Carlos Campano (Team Yamaha Andalucia) is winner of the FIM MX3 World Championship 2010, what is maiden title for him and also for Spain. Italian Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Cross 2 R) became Vice World Champion and Matevz Irt (Husqvarna Tecno B) from Slovenia took third place in the MX3 World Championship.

Taking third in Lierop’s heat one while runner up in the Championship Ken Roczen pulled out, 20 year old French Marvin Musquin became the 2010 MX2 World Champion and collected his second consecutive World Title. With KTM 350 SX-F mounted Cairoli winning the MX1 Title in Brazil, KTM got a full score today as they collected also the MX1 and MX2 Manufacturers’ World Titles. In 2010 KTM won Titles in both classes for their first time ever.

The British Schoolboy Motocross Association (BSMA) have joined forces with RHL Activities and Doodson Motorsport to put the Champion of Champions back on the motocross calendar It will be held on the 11th and 12th July at Walterstone, Nr Hereford. The event is open to all ages and split into the following categories 65cc, 85 Small Wheeled and Big Wheeled, Senior (145cc max 2 stroke - 250cc max 4 stroke) and AMX/Open.

In the second round of the Women’s Road Racing European Championship at the TT circuit of Assen Nina Prinz again showed her class leading abilities on her Yamaha YZF-R1. As with the first round, there was no real competition for the German Yamaha rider. The reigning European champion from Mannheim / Leutkirch was quickest all weekend, and never looked as if she was going to struggle with the competition.

During the first round of the European Championship Road Racing Women’s 1000cc held at Misano Adriatico (Italy) last weekend, Nina Prinz (Team Yamaha Motor Germany) debuted on the R1 and took it to an impressive victory. The reigning European champion, from Mannheim/Leutkirch in Germany, had been consistently fast during all qualifying sessions and dominated throughout the weekend, even during qualifying where she competed against many men from the open class.
