95% Favour Allowing Bikes In Bus Lanes Nationwide

An online poll conducted by Peugeot Scooters reveals that public opinion is firmly behind allowing motorcycles and scooters to use bus lanes in towns and cities across the UK, enabling riders to enjoy the safety and convenience benefits already open to cyclists. Prompted by the announcement from London Mayor Boris Johnson that motorcyclists will be able to share red route bus lanes with buses, cyclists and black taxis on an 18-month trial basis.

Third Generation Peugeot Speedfight 3 Due for Summer 2009

New Model and Price Cut on Peugeot's Budget V-Clic Scooter

Peugeot has good news for motorists who are feeling the pinch as the costs of fuel, road tax and parking rise, because the French company has reduced the price of its budget V-Clic scooter. Not only has Peugeot cut the price of the popular V-Clic from £899 to £829, they have also introduced a special edition Silver Sport paint scheme at £869, which is £30 below the previous price of the basic model.

Peugeot has announced major price reductions on its range of scooters, making two-wheels an even more attractive alternative for drivers looking to reduce their travelling costs as the credit crunch bites. UK scooter sales rose by 7.4% in June this year as escalating fuel prices encouraged people to switch from cars to more economical forms of transport. Petrol prices were driven to new highs between May and June, according the Office for National Statistics, with the average price of petrol at the pumps increasing by 5.3 pence per litre, to stand at 117.6 pence, (£5.35 gallon). Meanwhile diesel prices rose by 7.1 pence per litre to stand at 130.5 pence (£5.94 gallon).

Sales Of Affordable Scooters Rise Dramatically In 2008

Sales of affordable scooters from established manufacturers, like the V-Clic from Peugeot, have increased dramatically during the first two months of 2008 and look set to rise further as fuel prices and car tax [VED] escalate following the Budget. Statistics released by the Motor Cycle Industry Association show that the budget-priced Peugeot V-Clic is the best selling 50cc scooter this year and 30% of the Top Ten motorcycles registered in 2008 are sub-£1,000 50cc scooters (compared to only 20% for the same period last year).
