Suzuki Castrol Extend Lead

World Endurance Champions Suzuki Castrol won the Zolder 6 Hour fourth round of the FIM World Endurance Championship in Belgium this afternoon and extended its lead in the series to 44 points. GSX-R1000-mounted Vincent Philippe, Keiichi Kitagawa – who crashed heavily in qualifying - and Matthieu Lagrive took their third win of the seven-round series, completing 223 laps, three more than Yamaha Austria who currently hold second place in the Championship.

Suzuki Castrol On Pole In Zolder

World Endurance Champions Suzuki Castrol has put the GSX-R1000 Suzuki on pole for tomorrow’s World Endurance fourth round at Zolder in Belgium. The series leaders dominated free practice and qualifying for the six-hour race despite a high-speed crash by team member Keiichi Kitagawa this morning. Kitagawa was unhurt in the incident but had to switch to the number two machine for the remainder of the session.

Steve Ramon and Kevin Strijbos guided their works RM-Z450 machines to fourth and fifth positions overall respectively at a blustery Zolder circuit in Belgium today for the Karcher Grand Prix of Flanders, the opening round of the 2006 FIM MX1 World Championships.

Suzuki Set For Zolder Opener

The 2006 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship commences this weekend with the first round of fifteen in a six month, three continent trek. The Karcher Grand Prix of Flanders will be entertained by the Zolder circuit in Belgian for the third consecutive year. The season will involve participation from six manufacturers in the 15 GP, 30 race contest. Team Suzuki, with the works RM-Z450s this season running the traditional Suzuki ‘yellow’ livery, field an all-Belgian line-up for the third consecutive year with Kevin Strijbos and Steve Ramon pushing the manufacturer’s cause at the highest level.

trijbos Victorious At Mons

Team Suzuki rider Kevin Strijbos celebrated overall victory at the second round of the 2006 Belgian Motocross Championships at Mons yesterday while team-mate Steve Ramon also claimed a podium position. In the final event before the start of the MX1 Motocross World Championships, due to take place at the Zolder circuit for the Grand Prix of Flanders this weekend, Strijbos notched results of 2-1-2 in the three motos.
