Good Progress On First Day Of Qualifying For Takahashi

The first qualifying session for the 250cc class today and Yuki Takahashi made excellent progress from the morning to the afternoon session. The team has already made the first tyre choice for the race and worked hard on the overall configuration for tomorrow’s very important qualifying session as the team and rider aims for a good race on Sunday. The Honda RS250RW of JiR Team Scot was able to show that their lap times were very consistent and one of the major targets for tomorrow will be also to make more improvements in race configuration for Sunday.

Positive First Day of Practice for Yuki Takahashi

The first day of practice for the 250cc class got underway today and Yuki Takahashi was able to find a good setting and get more feedback for tomorrow’s crucial day of qualifying which decides the grid positions for Sunday’s Grand Prix of Spain. After finding the correct carburettor settings for his Honda RS250RW, Yuki tried hard in the last important laps of the afternoon to make a good lap time. Unfortunately the JiR Team Scot rider found some slower riders in front of him just as he aimed to make his best lap. The traffic meant that he was unable to end the session further up the on the time sheets.

A Tough Tyre-Testing Day for Yuki Takahasi

The second day has begun for the JiR Team Scot squad as they research tyre solutions and suspension settings ahead of the first round of the 250cc GP championship here in a week’s time. Today Yuki didn’t want to push too hard, as he wanted to work with both Dunlop and Showa technicians to improve the setting and ‘feel’ of the Honda RS250RW. At the end of the day the result is that JiR Team Scot are very satisfied with the result and tomorrow they hope to verify their whole technical package during the final day’s testing.

Excellent First Test for Yuki Takahashi at Night-Ride in Qatar

Despite effectively only having tested at Jerez recently thanks to his lay-off due to injury, Yuki Takahashi signed in at the first day of the night tests in Qatar with an excellent 4th best time. Yuki secured 4th place in the last hour of testing before the conditions began to deteriorate.

Final Day and Improved Performance for Yuki Takahashi at Jerez IRTA Tests

The third and last day of testing for the IRTA 250cc tests at the Jerez track closed positively for the JiR Team Scot squad with strong signal that rider Yuki Takahashi is moving forward and showing increased potential for the coming season. Despite only creating a general set-up on his Honda RS250RW the performance of the Japanese rider took full advantage of today’s improved weather and shows that his efforts and the team’s work is heading in the right direction.

Debut Of JiR Team Scot’s Little Silver Arrow’ In Jerez IRTA 250cc Test

Once more the poor weather played a part in proceedings as the 250cc machines made their debut on the 2.748-mile Jerez circuit today. Despite the conditions, today marked the debut of Yuki with his Honda RS250RW of the JiR Team Scot squad. Like its big sister that runs in MotoGP, the Honda 250cc two-stroke looks elegant in her ‘silver dress.’ The talented Japanese rider has come from a winter of hard physical training following his recuperation from an accident and an operation on his right leg.

Vital First Test For Konica Minolta Honda Comes To An End

Konica Minolta Honda’s first test of the 2007 season came to a successful end today, following three days of hard work getting used to the new V4 Honda RC212V. A single fast lap was not the main aim of the test. Instead it was to learn more about this all-new machine, which features a different engine layout to its 990cc V5 predecessor, the RC211V. Today Nakano continued to work with his new bike, new team and new Michelin tyres. The 29-year-old Japanese rider was 15th fastest on this final day, during which he tested machine geometry, tyres, the new electronics package on the RC212V and also completed a 20-lap race simulation.

Konica Minolta Honda Continues Hard Work At Sepang

Today at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, the Konica Minolta Honda team made more progress with their new rider Shinya Nakano in the first major test of the 2007 MotoGP season. Today’s work centred around testing new Michelin tyres and working on suspension as Nakano aims to get a good base setting as he adapts to his new Honda RC212V, Michelin tyres and his new team. Shinya completed 70 laps in good weather conditions and finished the day 12th overall in unofficial timing.

KONICA MINOLTA Honda has ended 3 solid days of grueling testing in a bid to find the perfect baseline for the 2007 season. THis was not a test for the faint-hearted nor the glory seeker. This was the gruelling side to a glamorous sport that the fans rarely see. Japanese 2-wheeled Ace Shinya Nakano was here to learn about Honda's all new V4 RC212V.
