JiR Team Scot Head to Sachsenring Aiming for Prestigious Results
Yesterday
After a one week break following the British and Dutch GP ‘double header’ last month, the 2008 MotoGP season resumes at the Sachsenring. The German event will provide the stage for the tenth round of the championship. The circuit winds its way through the edge of a forest, where the riders face a series of tight corners, with a series of seven left-handers, before opening the throttle on the short straight. The JiR Team Scot squad looks to gain significant results in both categories. Andrea Dovizioso, riding the Honda RC212V, has returned from three positive races in which he obtained fourth and two fifth-place finishes and he wants to improve still further. Meanwhile Yuki Takahashi has a good feeling with the German track, as back in 2006 he took one of his two victories of the season at the track and now he wants to repeat that feat this weekend.

Toseland Back Into The Unknown
Yesterday
After disappointments at two circuits he knows well, James Toseland returns to his journey into the unknown at the Alice Grand Prix of Germany at the tight twisty Sachsenring on Sunday. The 27 year old Yorkshireman has shown already in his MotoGP debut season how quickly he can learn new circuits on the Tech 3 Yamaha and the tenth round of the MotoGP World Championship should be no exception. Toseland crashed in Donington and struggled with the set-up in Assen to eventually finish in ninth place but still holds eighth place in the Championship, just ten points behind former World Champion Nicky Hayden.

A Progressive Race for Takahashi at GP of Holland
30 June 2008
The 250cc Grand Prix of Holland ended today with an eighth place finish for Yuki Takahashi. Starting from tenth on the grid, Yuki took four positions in the first lap, settling into sixth place as he tried to maintain contact with the leading group. But, with cold tyres and a track down on temperature – as well as having a new suspension set-up on his bike which he could not verify in morning warm-up – it took Yuki a number of laps before he could settle into a good race pace. In the second half of the race, Yuki improved his rhythm and was lapping at the same pace as the leaders, but he could not improve his position in the race. These important points have helped the Japanese rider to secure eighth place in the championship.

Good Progress for Takahashi During Assen First Qualifying
26 June 2008
The Grand Prix of the Netherlands, the ninth event of the season, saw Yuki Takahashi end the first day of qualifying in ninth position. With a lot of progress made during the day today, the JiR Team Scot rider is confident that he and the team can improve during the day tomorrow and in the second qualifying session. Without going all-out for a fast time, instead Yuki and the team developed the chassis and engine settings, improving his race pace gradually before tomorrow’s final session, which he and the team hope will see him further up the grid.

JiR Team Scot Head to Assen
24 June 2008
As soon as the fans left the British Grand Prix at Donington Park on Sunday, the JiR Team Scot team also left the United Kingdom and headed to Holland where, traditionally, the race will take place this Saturday the 28th June. The Assen circuit, nicknamed ‘the cathedral of motorcycling’ for the historical value it represents, hopefully will provide more good results for Andrea Dovizioso and Yuki Takahashi. Andrea has recently put in some fine performances with a fourth and fifth place finish in the last two races, which has consolidated his position in the championship. Yuki Takahashi meanwhile wants gain a good result, after producing some good practice and qualifying form but having suffered bad luck in the last two races. Both are ready, committed and highly motivated, supported by the high morale of the team.

Takahashi Takes Valuable Points at Donington
24 June 2008
For Yuki Takahashi and the JiR Team Scot squad, the British Grand Prix has not fulfilled the potential shown by the team during the weekend. During practice the Japanese rider had consistently kept himself in the top positions and started from fifth position on the grid. During the morning warm-up the team had not made substantial changes to the set-up of the Honda RS250RW as Yuki Takahashi was confident to be battling for a podium position. At the start of the race, the JiR Team Scot rider was near the front of the pack, close behind early leader Marco Simoncelli, who immediately attempted to pull away. As the race went on, Yuki was unable to repeat the form he showed during both practice days and slowly lost touch with the leaders. Despite this, he hung on to collect important points for the World Championship standings.

Takahashi Opens the Second Row of the Grid at Donington
21 June 2008
The British 250cc Grand Prix starting grid was effectively decided during Friday’s qualifying session. Today rain continued to fall on the circuit taking away the possibility for the riders to improve any further. The rules for the 250 class means there are two qualifying sessions and that meant that Yuki Takahashi starts from fifth position on the grid. Today’s weather was used by Yuki to find the best setting for a possible wet race and to adapt his riding style to make a good race rhythm. The morning session confirmed the good form of the JiR Team Scot rider, as he finished in second position. Then, in the afternoon he improved his performance still further but ended up in fifth position. Two days of practice have shown the very positive outlook Yuki has to the race and he is confident whatever the weather: sunshine or rain.

JiR Team Scot Heads to UK Aiming for Good Results
17 June 2008
After the Grand Prix of Catalunya, on the outskirts of Barcelona, JiR Team Scot heads north across the European continent and crosses the English Channel heading for Great Britain and the city of Derby. There, in the heart of the English East-Midlands, is situated the Donington Park circuit. Both riders are ready to face the eighth race in the MotoGP calendar and both are moving towards a common objective: the podium. Andrea Dovizioso, fourth in Spain, has obtained excellent results in the two days of tests following that race, even with the qualifying tyres that have caused him some concerns in the past. Also, last year at Donington he won one of his two victories of the season. Yuki Takahashi also has a real hunger for improved results, both to improve his position in the 250cc championship and redeem himself from his off-track excursion in Spain, where he fought back to get into the points.

Race Comeback for Takahashi at Catalan GP
10 June 2008
After two days of practice during which Yuki Takahashi has shown continuous progress and qualified on the second row of the Grand Prix, during the warm-up this morning with a damp track thanks to overnight rain, the JiR Team Scot rider showed with rain tyres a very good pace. The race under a blazing sun saw the Japanese rider start well and he was fourth into the first turn but half way through the first lap he contacted with Roberto Locatelli, forcing the Japanese rider off the track, leaving him in 23rd and last position. Yuki didn’t surrender and he started his inexorable fight-back to finish at the flag in 12th place. This was a race that showed the combative character of Yuki Takahashi that now already looks to the next race in Great Britain.

Positive First Day of Qualification for Yuki Takahashi
07 June 2008
The Catalunya Grand Prix started positively for Yuki Takahashi today, when he achieved the eighth best time in the first day of qualifying on the Barcelona circuit. This result could have been better if it was not for a small error during what would have been Yuki’s fastest lap. The JiR Team Scot rider is quite satisfied because from the morning he was in the top part of the rankings and the team worked hard to find a good setting of their technical package. The aim for tomorrow’s qualifying is to improve their position on the grid and start the race with 100% determination.

Proud Race for Yuki Takahashi at Italian GP
02 June 2008
Starting from 11th position in the sun at Mugello, Yuki Takahashi started fast today in the 250cc GP and within a few corners was up to fifth position. He stayed in this group behind the lead riders of Bautista, Simoncelli and Barbera but a number of crashes at the head of the field handed more positions to the following riders. The JiR Team Scot rider in warm-up showed his speed and intent for the race by setting the eighth fastest time and soon in the race he was in contact with Luthi and Debon fighting for the third and final podium position. Always Yuki was pushing at the maximum in the corners, as he had to try and snatch back the metres he was losing on the kilometre long straight. Sadly, just four laps from the end of the race, Yuki fell as he hit the brakes for one of the corners. Despite the lack of a result, Yuki proved himself once more, riding the whole race on the limit, showing the skill and deter mination of the Japanese rider.

31 May 2008
The second day of qualifying for the 250 class saw the JiR Team Scot rider do a good job of development on his Honda RS250RW but was unable to finish in a good position on the grid because he encountered traffic during his hot qualifying lap towards the end of the session. Despite the fact that he starts from the third row, Yuki Takahashi believes he have a good race and be up at the front and battle hard in the early the laps up to the leading group of riders. The Japanese rider enjoys the Mugello circuit and he is motivated also by the passion of the many fans that are camped out on the Tuscan hills.

First Day of Qualification for Yuki Takahashi in Italy
30 May 2008
The unstable weather conditions have characterized the first day of qualifying practice for the Italian Grand Prix. The Mugello circuit was constantly wet today as the rain fell down without a break. JiR Team Scot was dedicated to developing the Honda RS250RW and to choose the right tyres to use for today’s qualifying and also for the race on Sunday. If the weather doesn’t change and the sun doesn’t come out from behind the Tuscan Hills this weekend, then Yuki Takahashi is satisfied and confident that the good work done today could be very important for him and the race.

Takahashi Takes a Fine Fourth at Le Mans
19 May 2008
The fifth round of the 2008 MotoGP season took place today at the French circuit of Le Mans. Yuki Takahashi put in a race full of commitment once more, confirming to the competition that he is a rider with a very strong character. The start of today’s 250GP was delayed a little thanks to the rain, which affected the 125cc GP. The JiR Team Scot rider quickly took his 12th place on the grid, and from the start put in a series of laps in which he made many passes on the other riders to take second position on just the third lap. The condition of the track was precarious but the circuit got drier and there was more grip with every lap so that by the finish the whole circuit was dry. Only in the final laps was the Japanese rider that lives in Cattolica passed, but he tried valiantly to defend his position from Pasini and Simoncelli but in the end he took fourth position returning to the pits to applause from his team.

First Day in France Show Good Prospects for Yuki Takahashi
16 May 2008
The first day of qualifying for the 250cc class has seen Yuki Takahashi make marked improvement during the course of the day. This progress was only disturbed by an accident to Yuki, which thankfully didn’t result in injury for the Japanese rider. The JiR Team Scot rider, after a season’s absence from the French circuit due to injury, got back into a good rhythm and did the usual work of development for the first day, which was especially intensive on the chassis. Tomorrow will be crucial to improve the performance of today and match the potential that the team knows Yuki is capable of.

Andrea Dovizioso has shown talent and courage, but has so far collected fewer points than his determination has deserved.
