After the massive success of the 2007 Yamaha Race Academy, Yamaha decided to do it all again in 2008 to mark the 10th anniversary of the launch of Yamaha’s iconic YZF-R1. Yamaha dealers in countries all around Europe celebrated the occasion with a special day dedicated to the R-Series range of motorcycles and the release of the new YZF-R6.

Yamaha UK are pleased to announce a major tie-up with Britain’s largest track day organiser; Focused Events. Focused, which runs over 230 days a year, has 16 new YZF-R6’s for customer use plus four 2007 YZF-R1’s for their Senior Instructors, including Lead Instructor and Yamaha BSB star; Steve Plater. Focused Events Director Kevin Healy, who has been running trackdays since 1995, commented; “To have the support of Yamaha UK is fantastic, the new fleet of bikes reflect the level of investment and professionalism our team put in to all our events. The Senior Instructor deal is great and if it helps Steve get more R1 track time whilst he’s teaching, all the better!”

The 2007 YZF-R6; “MCN Bike Of The Year 2006” In Dealers Now!

Yamaha UK are pleased to announce the early first delivery of 2007 YZF-R6 machines to their dealer network. The new liveried machines are now available in limited numbers, priced £7,499, in all Authorised Yamaha Dealerships. The new YZF-R6 will again be showcased in the ever popular Virgin R6 Cup and for 2007 in the white-hot competition of the British Supersport Championship! The Virgin Supersport team will consist of R6 Cup winners Billy McConnell (2005) and Tom Grant (2006).
