The Tech 3 team and British rider James Toseland will continue to race together until the end of the 2009 MotoGP world championship. Tech 3 and Toseland have already agreed to exercise an option for the 2009 season after the 27-year-old made an instant impact in MotoGP. Toseland has scored top six finishes in his first two races, and claimed a front row start on his debut in Qatar. Tech 3 team manager Herve Poncharal has also successfully concluded negotiations with Yamaha to continue to run two factory supported YZR-M1 machines beyond the current 18-race campaign. The new contract, signed on Friday in Estoril, will continue Yamaha’s long-standing partnership with Tech 3 that started in 1999. The new contract is for the next two seasons until the end of 2010.
